when i turn on with battery in laptop i was getting a message that the battery power was low ..ive since started it without the battery in and sonetines buttons light up but screen stays black some times it actually starts up ..its about 2 years old

anyone know if its worth buying a new battery or is it bin time ?

I'd take the battery to a laptop repair shop see if they can do a check on it, they should be able to check any degradation and will be able to advise what best action would be. It could also be the terminals the battery sits in?!

Get advice from trading standards too, sales of goods act may cover battery seeing as 2 years isn't really that old.

The sales of goods act does not cover batterys on laptops at a repair shop i used to work for hafer your 1yr warrant as ran out that how they get out of it

Well that helped lol ! To be honest it sounds like the battery has gone ( but could just be a loose connection )

You can get batteries on the bay of E but they can be pricey, take it to an independant pc repair shop and they can test it without charging the prices PC world etc charge.
