Can I say as an American football purist…. I way prefer conference championship Sunday compared to superbowl Sunday!
Much better and closer games…
So who you got tonight… I have the eagles and the bills
2nd favourite American football day of the year to New Year’s Day in college football |

Hey OP, it is an exciting day and I’ve been watching the build up since 2pm.
I’m a Chiefs fan but genuinely worried about how we’ll do against the Bills.
Hoping the Commanders win but expecting the Eagles to.
How about those…. Chiefs!! |

"Not really followed this season as miss the summary show bbc used to do, not the same since moved to itv
Was reading lot that chiefs get special treatment from refs but don't know "
It’s more of a mahomes issue where it may look like he is getting a lot more 15 yard personal foul calls because of his flopping about and selling of marginal hits!
You could call it gamesmanship bordering on shithousery |

I'm done with the NFL. I used to agree with the author that there is a certain magic to the Championship finals as well as the Superbowl itself. Channel 4 introduced me to NFL back in the day and I even used to play as a kid.
Not anymore. I've finished with it.
I'm not really a fan of any 1 team, just love the game, but I've just watched the Bill vs Chiefs final and, although I cannot accuse the game of being "rigged" par se as I don't have solid proof, there was it was VERY plain to see, mainly from the often at times baffling referee decisions, a "preferred candidate" shall we say.
Look. I get it. By having the Chiefs at the Superbowl there is more talking points, more interest from around the world so more ads and more money. And it is a business after all.
I get that.
So the "sport" takes a backseat. And that's a shame as that's the bit I enjoy(ed).
I have seen it too many times now (and in other sports) for it to be "bad luck" or "how the cookie crumbles".
The one thing I will say that was exciting was that, despite the "best" efforts on the powers that be, they very nearly didn't get the final they so obviously desired.
Sad day really. I genuinely loved the NFL. But I'm done. |

I fear you right. Been seeing this happen far too often. So I put a bet on and I've just won a chunk that I'll give to charity. At the start of the season I bet the Chiefs would reach the Superbowl as I knew back then there was no way they were letting Mahomes and Kelce miss it. Too much $$$ to be made.

The Bills v Chiefs game was RIGGED
1. The Chief's catch was incomplete.
2. Josh Allen got the first down.
3. Helmet thrown off, in front of several officials, but no call???
4. Mystery flag picked up on Bill's 4th down for what exactly???
Can't let the Bills win can we, we need to sell all those precious advert minutes to the Swifties.
Shame really.

If you are done with Sundays, come over the joy that is Saturday college football…. So much better and more passionate and generally fun ( unless you are a Michigan State fan in the last two years having to watch arch rival no.1 cheat their way to a national championship, then this year seeing arch rival 3 beat arch rival 2 in the championship game, and watching your team having to rebuild again after yet another head coach scandal! …. Buts it’s the hop that kills you!!! )
As I was saying…. Saturday football… yey!!!! ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |
