Family man. Endlessly positive attitude on life, through health scares, through unspeakable difficulties. Loves his job, loves the people he works with, loves his community, gives back whenever he can. Curious about the world and always wanting to learn more and do better. Defensive of those around him without his privilege. |

An old friend, who died on Monday, was absolutely wonderful. He was immensely funny, incredibly kind, super smart, and always humble. He loved people, was genuinely curious about them and their lives, and he was the first to lend an ear when anyone needed support. He was principled without being judgmental, and somehow managed to be both thoughtful and chaotic all at once. He was also, without a doubt, the messiest person I ever worked with. But if I could fight my way into that pit of an office right now, for just five minutes to give him a bear hug, I’d do it in a heartbeat. |

I know lots
The young man, wise beyond his years. Manages to be both intelligently searching and stupidly funny.
The woman who took me under her wing and has endlessly supported me & nurtured my skills. Whilst battling her own health issues. And has graciously now allowed me to reciprocate.

I'm fortunate to know a few absolute diamonds of people. Some I've known my entire life, to ones I've met along the road, some are now not with us any longer and some are still the same amazing people they've always been.
But a special shout out for a former boss, who I still see occasionally. He helped a young 21 year, see herself differently for no gain of his own. Saw him do this for numerous people over the years. And he's the reason that many many people are still alive due to his scientific discovery. Yet he's the most humble amazing man. |

My friend Emma. Sunshine in human form. Always a nice thing to say about someone and extremely supportive. One of the few work colleagues I have ever kept in contact with after they've left and the only person out of my immediate family that I give a Christmas present to every year. |

One of the smartest people I know. Terrifyingly intelligent. Well read across many disciplines. Not stuck up their arse about it, quite the opposite.
Quiet support through everything. Almost everything. White bedding is a step too far. Things breaking, me breaking, not being able to find my book. One of my true rocks. |

"I don't think people are shit
The people I keep friendly with are all fairly grounded
The experience that prompted this was with a stranger
I don't think most strangers are shit either "
I didn’t say most were. You’re just commenting to be contrary. |

The best person I know is my husband.
He's caring, loving, supportive and genuinely interested in people. He's the best kind of friend to have, the one that notices what you're going through and will be there for you before you know you need a friend. He's changed my life just by letting me be me and accepting every part of that. He's an amazing father and an even better step father (only because that's a harder job to do).
I don't know what I did to be loved and understood by him. |

"Tell me about a good person you know"
I know this guy. Really empathetic, inclusive, friendly, funny, caring, excellent company. He does his absolute utmost for his child and fiancé, even though stuff can be really hard a lot of the time. I like spending time with him. I like it a lot. |

"Only know good people.
I know this guy who likes running. He's also great fun to be around, excellent company but too often, he runs off and leaves me behind
Sounds like a running rotter ! "
He once ran off and left me in a park full of goose shit. True story! |

Actually, some of the best people I know are flawed. They make mistakes, they have vices, the have had difficult times, and still do, they have a past, they are "characters " they are genuine and unapologetically themselves. They are outspoken, sometimes offensive, sometimes hilarious. They have huge hearts when if they don't always show it |
