For those of us who are too ugly and too ungrateful to get laid. (Others can join too)
On the nights where Hugh Jackman isn't showing up to ravage your entitled self, what are you reading or watching? |

"I’m currently reading
The Princess Bride. Also a go to film choice "
Such a wonderful book - and so delightfully different from the film, particularly in its ending. And there is a shortage of perfect endings in this world.
I'm on an old Morse novel, and very good it is too. And the Inspector gets a lot more sex in print than John Thaw managed on TV... |

Oh, and I'm half way through reading Walking Practice by Dolki Min
It's an utterly bizarre and engaging novel about a creature that stalks the Internet on sites like fab looking for people to eat. |

I bought mystery book package at Christmas from a National Trust property. One was 'Pure' by Andrew Miller which I'm trying to read but am not sure about yet. The other started with someone having been buried alive, bound hand and foot which gave me such horrors within two pages that I immediately put it in the 'for donation' bag.
The package also contained a nice bookmark and a sachet of hot chocolate which for the princely sum of two quid was an absolute bargain |

Mystery books can be life changing or... not so much. |

When I used to frequent the library…
(Back before my job stole my life 🙄) I would select my books & always take a random from the shelves next to the checkout. I found some new authors & genres. And some stinkers 🤣

I buy second hand from World of Books, and their 4 for 3 offer gets me some... unusual choices sometimes. |

I used to do that and also on the autobiography section. I read some great books that way but as you say had my fair share of stinkers |

Wherever I lay my hat |
I've just started watching "Could you survive? With Creek Stewart" on Prime about people in perilous situations. It's hilarious. Not because of their peril but his suggestions about how they could save themselves |

Currently reading Brotherless Night by VV Ganeshananthan"

"In the middle of a cosy romance and have Bob Mortimer's book lined up to read next. And as all the men I've had sex with recently have told me to read Dune I'm considering adding it to the pile. 🤣"
I tried to read Dune years ago and couldn't finish it. Despite that I'm reading a book about the making of one of the film versions |

Man, I was convinced to read a court of thorns and roses and I'm one of those who will finish the book series just because I've started. Anyone who can send some fantasy recommendations my way please do 👍🏻 |

Picked it up in the morning and finished it that evening. It's rare to find a book like that. |

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales) |
It's a tough read, but very well done.
Maus. By Art Spiegelman.
It's a graphic story book about his family's experiences in the holocaust and their lives afterwards. It's holocaust memorial day today!

Cold Water by Dave Hutchinson. It's part of his fractured Europe series. Near future espionage in a world where Europe has fallen apart with hundreds of mini states, hard borders and hard people. So far so good. |

It was my month to choose a book for (one of) my book groups and I panicked and went for a YA love story because February has Valentines Day and it feels right.
So I'm reading Gwen and Art Are Not In Love by Lex Croucher.
But I'm also listening to an audiobook - Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston. |

Watch-wise, I’m giving series three of Slow Horses a vigorous seeing to right now. In terms of audiobooks, my ears are being dry humped by Adrian Tchaikovsky’s Service Model. Gotta love a bit of sci-fi aural debauchery. For paper fetishists, my bit on the side is a biography of metaphysical poet and all-round bad boy John Donne. Absolute filth. |
