Your last ten pounds

couple, us we him her.

You are completely skint, no job no source of income, I home you have recently eaten, you have clothing and are warm and dry.

All you have is your last ten pounds that's it nothing else.

As you walk down the road you meet a homeless starving person begging for food.

Do you walk on by as you need the money just as much.

Or

Go and spend the money on food and warm drink for the homeless person?

This isn't a trick question,I haven't pulled it from the internet it's just a question.

I always give the homeless but sadly if this was my last tenner I wouldn't as sometimes you do need to think of yourself too

Give it to him/her in return for a BJ. At least it would cheer me up.

So you are homeless, meeting someone else homeless. You'd probably share the money.

Gosh, what a spirit lifting thread…

I was in this same situation when I was about 21 years old. I literally had a 10 pesos note in my hand- enough for me to buy (very basic) food for two days before I got paid OR to pay for public transport to get to work before I got paid. Not both.

Just as I was getting the money out of the cash machine, a boy who lived on the streets came up to me begging him to give him some money. I explained that I only had this and I couldn’t even afford to feed myself or take myself to work for 2 days before I got paid. He sneered and said “wow, you’re more skint than me!” And walked off. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nowadays, I’d buy some food and water and I’d share it with the homeless person. A tenner can get two meal deals, so we could have one each.

With inflation taken into account, I could probably buy a Freddo

I'd hit the reduced section and buy us some food to share, keeping the rest of the cash for later 💜

In an ideal world and with my virtue signalling beacon in operation I would give the homeless person a fiver and keep a fiver for myself. I would then walk to the nearest homeless charity headquarters and take a rep back to the person, wait while they gave them all the help they needed then go he hungry and broke but full of the divine light of selfless giving and footage for my YouTube channel

In reality I would probably either give nothing or give a quid or two. What's the point of making myself destitute?

No I wouldn’t. The reality is that I don’t give people tenners now when I do have a home, money and food so I am not sure why I would change that when it is my last.

I do give to charities but homelessness isn’t one of them.

If I was carrying 10 quids worth of food i'd share a meal with them. If it's 10 pound sterling , that remains mine cos other things might come up like getting shelter for the night or riding a bus or attending an interview or getting to the docs etc ......

I'd expect help from people so I know I would help but can't really say in a hypothetical..... and I guess if it happened more than once then my actions would change each time.

In the circumstances outlined I would be keeping the tenner in my pocket.

If it was just me, I'd split some. I have a large family to think of though, so I'd have to keep it.

I'd buy 10 scratch cards, and turn my tenner in £10k. Simple.

I'd start busking on the street with drums made from discarded KFC buckets, while wearing a tight top and no bra.

They could do an interpretive dance along with my beautiful singing and drumming.

People give to buskers, not the homeless.

I have given my last ten and five pound notes to homeless people on the street.

I knew I'd be getting more in a couple of days and had food, gas, electric etc.

I'm a sucker for a sad face.

My mum and I have money to a guy on the street once and an enraged, red faced man followed us to berate us for doing it.

Walk into the nearest bookies ask the person for a few selections of horses, place several bets with the tenner and what profit was won give it to the homeless person and I’d still have my tenner

Buy a bottle of water and a few snacks for the homeless man. I tend not to give money. You're only skint until payday they are skint and homeless not knowing when their next meal is coming from.

I would be keeping my £10. It’s fine to help others when you can but not if it makes you destitute.

My thoughts are that I don't need it at this moment but they do. Even if it's to get a bottle of vodka to make their life a blur.

It's an unpopular opinion but I agree with it.

I don't like giving with conditions attached.

I'd hate to be homeless and have people give me food without asking if I wanted it or even liked what they'd bought. When you depend on charity your dignity is precious.

Sounds like the last week of January, tbh.

I'd share my £10 with the homeless person; in reality, a tenner is at best two meals or 24 hours of eating, halving this doesn't make a great deal of difference; for the sake of one extra meal or 12 more hours with food in my stomach, I may as well share what I have and hope that karma really is a thing.

I would keep it. Strangely enough though if there was a starving dog or

Child I would feed them.

Not sure what that says about me 🤷‍♀️

As per the conditions, No. I'd be keeping my cash and taking myself down to the job centre to sign on. Then I'd call the local homeless charity and send them down to the person.

Well I just saw a a fox with an injured leg and was instantly more concerned about it than the countless homeless people out in this weather.

Anyone begging in a large town or city would certainly make more than £10 a day and be given food and drink so they'd almost always be better off than you in this situation. Virtue signalling apart, no one in this scenario is giving them their last tenner !

That £10 would last me around 15 days for food while I get some other income, I would definitely not waste it on take away for a beggar. If he was genuine I mightt give him £1 so he could eat of a day or two

To be honest even if I wasn’t down to my last tenner I wouldn’t give a tramp any money
