What do you miss most about the UK/home?

Afternoon fabbers and happy Friday

So what is it that you miss when you’re away? No doubt family will be a common answer…but what other things ….

Go…..

Supermarkets , as much as I love foreign food I miss our big supermarkets with cheap tinned tomatoes & filter coffee . Basics seem to either not exist or cost a fortune anywhere else

All over

Not much at all as is a holiday and try to enjoy it all, even if is not the norm. Unless of course, service is awful, food is dire and they have springy mattresses or others around forget they are other people there too trying to enjoy their holiday. Even though more of a coffee drinker, I occasionally miss a decent cup of tea

In saying that though, I lost one of my dogs the last time I was away and felt I was in the wrong country and should have been at home.

My pillow - it’s a worldwide standard that pillows have to be the softest pillows ever and I hate it!

If my pillow(s) didn’t take up all the suitcase I’d be taking them with me wherever I went!

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales)

I do a lot of travelling and I don’t miss the UK at all. Where I live, there’s not much grass, but that’s not specifically British, just Northern European.

Picking up on other comments, someone misses supermarkets. There are really great supermarkets here in Spain and just as good in France too. In Italy, they’re usually smaller, but having all the different stuff makes them more interesting.

“Ex Pats” missing stuff? How come they are Ex Pats and not immigrants? I’ve never heard of any Bangladeshi Ex Pats in Birmingham!!

Fantastic IPAs in Spain now. It costs the same as a beer in the UK so a lot of tourists swerve it for the local lagers.
