When on holiday
Jump to: Newest in thread
Not much at all as is a holiday and try to enjoy it all, even if is not the norm. Unless of course, service is awful, food is dire and they have springy mattresses or others around forget they are other people there too trying to enjoy their holiday. Even though more of a coffee drinker, I occasionally miss a decent cup of tea |

"Nothing. The reason I go on holiday is to get away from everything at home and experience something new.
If I was to start missing things there wouldn't be much point going.
"
In saying that though, I lost one of my dogs the last time I was away and felt I was in the wrong country and should have been at home. |

"If I was in another location for an extended period I might start missing people and things.
My ex pat relatives miss speaking English"
I enjoy trying to learn little bits of the local lingo…. At least to make an effort I suppose |

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales) |
I do a lot of travelling and I don’t miss the UK at all. Where I live, there’s not much grass, but that’s not specifically British, just Northern European.
Picking up on other comments, someone misses supermarkets. There are really great supermarkets here in Spain and just as good in France too. In Italy, they’re usually smaller, but having all the different stuff makes them more interesting.
“Ex Pats” missing stuff? How come they are Ex Pats and not immigrants? I’ve never heard of any Bangladeshi Ex Pats in Birmingham!!

"I don't travel abroad these day but when i did i missed my ale "
Fantastic IPAs in Spain now. It costs the same as a beer in the UK so a lot of tourists swerve it for the local lagers.

My instant response was nothing but then I read other posts and I realised I miss my pillow and real double beds. I do hate the 2 single beds just put together.
Other than that I don't miss anything, even when I don't take my kids |

Sounds silly but the weather. We had 10 days of baking Sun, hitting the 90s everyday. What I would have given for a English downpour on any of those days.
I also miss my bed and decent pillows. |

I left the UK 10 years ago, been back for 15 hours total and it was too long.
I missed fish and chips, proper pies and cream cakes, so now I make my own.
The only thing I ocassionaly miss is a proper river with clear water. |
