Do you prefer to book holidays at short notice or plan well into the future

Just booked something for Aug 2026

Carlisle usually

Some things need to be booked over a year in advance.

Some things are suitable for spontaneity.

I tend to prefer to have an idea of plans at least a day or two ahead.

Both, my free time is sparse so friends tend to book it up advance, with the occasional weekend free, for a spontaneous, let's get on a plane idea

My work requires planning at least 6 months ahead so spontaneity is for free weekends only.

I’m do my research early but pretty spontaneous and book last minute - I’m in Italy on Monday & still haven’t booked any accommodation.

Spontaneous.

Book a flight somewhere, get a hotel for the first night and then just see where the fancy takes you.

A bit of both… My main summer holiday I plan far in advance and do loads of research but I also sometimes book a last minute short break away

Often 'planned' something happens to ruin it.

Last minute preferable

I booked my holiday for this November back in April last year.

I already know where I want to go next year too but not booked that yet

Planning stuff gives me a headache. I'm quite happy if someone else wants to do it, but if I'm booking something it'll be last minute.

We can't do spontaneous holidays at the moment. At some point in the future when we are able we hope to

Plan. Well ahead. And my plans have backup plans and contingencies.

The thought of being somewhere and having no prior intel or exfiltration plan fills me with complete dread.
