"I've put my back out and I have a 7 hour drive to get home tomorrow " the only folks that will give sympathy are those that's had a back problem..dose up with ibuprofen, and maybe make a 'lumber roll 'using a rolled up t towel..good luck. |

This is bad advice. There’s 3 stages of back problem, don’t ever stretch in 1/
1- initial - lots of pain & inflammation , possibly pressing on root nerves. Just use anti inflammatory , ice, & pain killers to keep correct posture & avoid sitting down.
2 -1-6 weeks later - recovering - light stretching , massage, heat, walking
3 - it’s good again - core building & weight loss , glutes & hamstring work |

I pumped up my car tyres with a foot pump it cured my back problem at the time.
I suggest pain killers and lie straight, on your back, if you can lie on the floor a hard surface might do the trick.

I used to suffer terrible back pain mainly due to my job , heavy lifting in awkward places as incorrect angles, unfortunately unavoidable. I purchased an inversion table, I hang upside down for a couple of minutes a day and do core exercises whilst hanging. I still get twinges now and then but in the main I'm pain free. |

To alleviate back-pain lie straight on your back, pull one leg up so your knee’s on your chest. Repeat this 15 times then it’s the other legs turn.
Repeat this whole procedure with each knee squeezed to the chest for around 3 seconds, 15 times.
It may not get you totally pain free, but it significantly reduces pain.
Repeat in the morning (& whenever the inclination / opportunity arises) until ones back is comfortable. |

It depends on what the issue is no two back issues are the same.
Trying to stay active is important even just walking from one room to another.
Driving can really aggravate it if the sciatic nerve is the issue.
If muscle spasms then breathing techniques and possibly muscle relaxants will be required.
There's no one size fits all remedy. |
