Titz Towers, North Notts

Tony Slattery died today. I know he had his demons, but was well liked by everyone who met him. A lot of my friends had gigged with him at festivals.

That is sad because he'd recently made a successful comeback after years of very serious issues. He seemed to have it all as a young comic.

He seemed to be on every TV programme and the friend of all of the popular actors and comedians in the 80’s. Because of that couldn’t stand him, came across as too luvvie for me.

However I saw a documentary about him and read a couple of articles/ interviews and suddenly realised I thought he was a great guy, troubled but obviously a genuinely decent bloke.

Feel for his partner, friends and family and hope he’s in a better place now.

Sad, sad news. Loved him in Peter's Friends and of course, Who's Line is it Anyway where his banter with Josie Lawrence was hysterical.

Alas
