Here we go again another attack on a NHS worker total scum id make sure they couldn't get treatment ever again.i have a friend who's wife works in are local AE says it happens quite regularly as a society what should we do with them.

I don't know the circumstances. Was there person temporarily out of their mind due to a medical condition? I've seen this before.

I am not excusing drugs or alcohol
I am saying I can't make a reasoned response to your thread because we don't know if either were involved on this occasion
If someone was having a manic attack or a psychosis, then a radical response is not particularly the long term answer |

I understand where your coming from as most will be the same I'm more there isn't a excuse if they are that bad then they shouldn't be aloud to be out and about and if he or she is under supervision then those supervisors should be accountable as well so often excuse after excuse but let's see. |

The care sector is on its knees at various levels
The correct support just isn't there for a lot of people
So there is a lot of people out in the community that shouldn't be
I don't know what the solution is
It would be easy to make this thread political, but I don't think a group of pontificating swingers will resolve anything overnight

What I will offer is an example
A 90 year old lady, a former nurse
Final stage diabetes
Dementia
Frequent water infections, which when mixed with the dementia, causes bouts of extreme and violent outbursts
Currently in an EPH on a respite basis
You have a GP in the home saying she is 'competent' and can go home
You have district nurses saying she can't look after herself
You have a social worker who dances the line, but leans more towards the GP
End result, she bounces around the system and regularly ends up in A&E
(The lady in question is my former mother in law)

How do you balance that with someone who gets nasty in drink or who pops one pill too many in pursuit of 'a good night out'?
You can't
There isn't one single solution or any easy ones
Any solution isn't simple and could never happen overnight - any new laws would simply be challenged and would get bogged down in litigation for years
That said, I agree in that, as a society, we should not sit back and do nothing |
