People parking in disabled bays without a badge
Jump to: Newest in thread
I got my car back a few weeks ago after it was in a crash and just noticed last night that the horn did work. I was telling my Mum and Dad this when my Dad seriously asked me why I didn't check the horn when I went to pick it up like it was something obvious to do. I don't why, but that would me up more than it should've 😅 |

"Someone driving at a steady 40 mph, in a 60, 50, 30 and 20 mph zones.
Oh I'm so with you there!"
It's dangerous and breaking the law in the 30 and 20 zone. It also shows a worrying lack of awareness |

"Annoyed today, when I parked in morrisons(being a Saturday, quite busy)a guy in an Audi rs parked intentionally over two bays,I mocked him by pointing and laughing and saying loud entitled."
I use disabled bays to park my RS whenever possible, never across 2 bays that's just wrong. |

Nothing yet, Pickles. But we're going to try and do the weekly shop shortly and your thread title might just become relevant! ♿"
My mum couldn’t find a space and all these people didn’t even have their badges on so she had to hobble with her stick in the freezing cold. 😠😠 |

Lack of changing rooms in places selling clothes. No, I don't want to spend x amount of money, take the clothes home only to find out they don't fit/they looked much better on the hanger. Then having to go through the hassle of going back to the store to return the items and waiting for my money to arrive back into my bank account. |

It's not about the badge, it's about the need. There are many who have a blue badge for driving someone else, but they still use it when the person with the need isn't in the car.

To park in the bay you still need to display the badge it says so. So not displaying it means you shouldn’t be parked there. |

Local Sainsbury's has about 20 disabled/parent parking bays and I would say 80% of users tend to be "privileged wankers" who want a bigger bay so there precious bit of metal doesn't get touched.... personally I blame the supermarket for not monitoring who parks where |

It should be monitored because it happens too much. |

I regularly get wound up by shops like M&S that appear not to sell size 10 men's Shoes. Other sizes are available on the shelf . Being told " you can order them on line " pushes me to the edge.I will order a pair next time I buy a haircut on line. |

Nothing has annoyed me today but I did get a little frustrated with the cyclist who jumped a red and almost knocked me down a few days ago. That annoyance didn’t last long as he promptly ploughed into the side of a white van.
Happy days. |

I have an acquaintance who has a blue badge, there are some blue badge parking bays in a local supermarket that have lots of room behind them, if someone without a badge is parked in the bay they park behind them and block them in, then goes shopping.
They walk with two sticks and shuffle along quite slowly so shopping can take a while, the number of people who get chewy waiting to get to the rear of their car to load up their shopping when he gets back is a source of great entertainment to him. |

I watched a women park in the grid zone in Aldi blocking the (allocated to allow wagons to back up to the loading point) and watched her walk around the store shaking her head and telling her partner that it’s disgusting the selves are so bare!!!
People part of the problem that they complain about is my peeev of the day lol |

"Not really about the relative number of the population though is it, but availability at the time its required by people who might need it urgently "
Blue badge holders can use parent & child spaces if no disabled spaces left! |

Awwwww Pickle, you know that we get it. They're wazzocks. I bet they don't want the disability that goes with the badge ♿
The supermarket wasn't busy so we were okay. |

"Guidelines suggest that 6% of parking spaces are given over to disabled spaces, yet only 3.3% of UK drivers are registered disabled."
I get that I'm addressing an UNLOS but just came here to say that the disabled badge holder might well be the passenger. Somewhere around 24% of the UK population are disabled and so if only 6% of the parking bays are accessible ones, no wonder we have a problem. |
