Who here enjoys Shakespeare? Anyone been to Stratford recently? It’s a lovely place but not very active

Would love to meet and make some new friends

Mayfair

Occasionally I throw a few epistles and sonnets to woo women. The outcome is usually two-fold: a bonk or everlasting platonic friendships, sometimes both.

On the odd occasion it has them running for the hills. Who could blame them, for Shakespeare is an acquired taste.

Perhaps they prefer Christopher Marlowe.

Women are fickle creatures. 💌

South Wales

I enjoy it when done in a way I can understand (like West Side Story and Romeo & Juliet by Baz Luhrman).

Reading the text of Shakespeare is (I find) very hard going, like trying to walk through treacle. You have to try and decipher the meaning all the time and it’s very wordy.

I prefer his more lighter stuff. The heavier stuff is way too heavy for me.

I wouldn’t go and see a play. I’d spend the entire time non plussed, wondering what was going on.

Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Havant

Hand on heart… I find his plays and sonnets frankly amazing …

Plus often there is the historical feelings at the time, players could get away with alot more then re censorship without their entrails been shown to the public

I am a massive fan, the passion was ignited at school and sure there are venues other than Stratford

I re read some play(s) after reading a novel sometimes and I find it in truth funny, heart stompingly sad, the language is difficult but then eventually a light will go on and it becomes easier

Thank god for the tourists helping to keep this craft alive
