Wherever I lay my hat |
Was there last year. Amazing country for culture, hiking (Gjirokaster, Accursed Mountains...) etc. Go for that. The coast has ideas above it's station - shit beaches, poor service and now massively overpriced. |

We have been to the capital Tirana. It was nice but I’ve been to a few of the other eastern European countries and although the people and the food was very nice it’s not as picturesque as the others we have been too.
There isn’t really an old town and full of communist tower blocks.
I have heard the the Albanian riviera is very nice tho. |

"I heard Tirana was interesting, I means between Albania, Romania and Bulgaria really. I heard Rivera is getting very expensive now with its popularity shooting up"
We went to Plodtiv in Bulgaria and enjoyed it more as there was more history. They had Roman amphitheatres and a beautiful old town. Tirana had bunkers and communist concrete buildings everywhere! We didn’t really know what to expect but it was still nice tho |

Loved Albania. Meal for 2 and drinks 14 quid in Tirana lol.
Dajti mountain via cable car is well worth a visit. Sky club bar if you want a revolving bar view. Bus from Tirana to Durres is good value. Roman Amphitheatre there. If you want a decent bit of beach you have to walk a fair bit down past the muddy harbour bit. |
