Hey all, who else on fab likes to get outdoors for their hobbies?

I love going to the mountains for walking, and also I mountain bike, surf, boulder and do pretty much anything outdoors if it seems fun!

Would love to chat to some other like-minded people and maybe even make some new fab friends or organize some active socials?

We're both massively into the outdoors but have no desire to add meeting people into it. Walking and running we much prefer on our own with the dog. I have established climbing partners who I trust.

Some sports are safer with a partner, some can barely be done without one but these aside, I've never felt the Wirral of wanting to spoil my time outdoors with a load of others people, I'm doing it to get away from them.

If you do want that, I know it can be hard meeting people who like this kind of stuff though in fairness it is significantly easier these days. Back when I was in my 20's admitting you liked walking/hiking singled you out as a bit of a dork, a loner, a bit strange. These days everybody has at least one profile pic of them up a mountain somewhere - mostly Pen y Fan or Snowdon #mountains #adventure

I know what you mean, often getting out in the mountains is an escape from the real world, but I find that it's more enjoyable with maybe two or three others to share the experience.

Particularly with mountain biking, a couple of others to have a laugh with and pick you up when you fall off is alay nice! Haha.

Amy sport or trade climbing I would only do with trusted partners I have known a long time, but bouldering it's good to see different people's approach to a problem. We all ready s problem differently and climbing with different people boosts progression!

I'm also of the opinion that you can never have too many friends haha

I feel spoilt in my area of the country for walking trails and go often . Sometimes with former playmates and other times with vanilla friends .

I agree, any opportunity to be outdoors and enjoy the countryside is a good one!

I am blessed to work outdoors and enjoy loads of outdoor activities outside of work too. In Spain so its usually sunny.

Most often it is the solitude that appeals, but at times someone to share it all with, vanilla or otherwise, would be nice too.

I find it's a balance. Like I love the solitude of surfing, sitting on my board waiting for a wave, at peace with the world and connected to nature. But it's also nice to have that one friend out there who hollars when you catch a good wave!

And always nice to have people to warm up in front of the fire with a pint after!
