Am I just paranoid? I drive an oldish BMW 3 series. Convertible, looks great blacked out balck car wheels windows all that. A guy sprinted after my car christmas eve morning after walking past. Other night my roof and boot were open. Tonight I drive home there's an unusual car at the end of my street. Guy in driver seat hoody on and balaclava on.
I don't know if I should be paranlid cos it's not an expensive car, no m3 or anything like that. But can't help feel paranoid. What would you do |

Think I'm just paranoid. Chancers and dealers around me. My roof being open at 2 am is probably from sitting on keys. I'm going for a drive and keep an eye out for dodgy people |

Ring doorbells are wireless so there’s no real installation…. Also call me naive and I haven’t lived in London for thirty years but do people wear balaclavas for shits and giggles down there now, I’d be on the phone to the police or don’t they do anything about shit like that now |

Not wishing to deliberately put the shits up you, but from recent experience, it's the right thing to worry.
About 2 months ago, it was 1am and I had just taken a mega-dump, blocking the bog in the process. Having to wait for it to slowly drain before flushing through each time was a very boring process. Don't worry - I'm getting to the point!
My bathroom faces onto the main road, and I was idly gazing out the window to pass the time. After 30 minutes of thrilling nothingness, I noticed a car pulling up right outside my house, slowing down long enough to let out two passengers, both dressed like ninjas, including face/head bandaging and tactical backpacks. This was an almost military deployment as the car sped off as the "ninjas" ran down the road.
About 3 minutes later, there was a load of shouting before the car sped along to (presumably) pick up its passengers before fleeing the scene. The police arrived a minute later, and spent the next two hours fruitlessly searching for their suspects, even though they were long gone.
The next day, I heard that this was a meticulously planned burglary, breaking in when they knew the occupants were home to cause maximum terror for their victims.
I finally unblocked the bog. The police left. The wife slept through it. I went back to bed. The people were never caught.
I know that this has nothing to do with cars being nicked, but the way that criminals are becoming more brazen means that you should try and protect you and your things as much as possible. Paranoia just sharpens your sense of self-preservation. |

Put a mannequin in the car with a balaclava on it. A baby monitor in the car with parent receiver in it so when the dodgy person comes near the car start speaking like a cop code speak.
