I’d like to see MVG win it but I think Luke Littler will get the win.
I’ve been an MGV fan for years and would like to see him win it once more before Littler wins a shit ton over the next decade.
Unfortunately I think the media build up around Littler has been way over the top for the poor lad and it will be unbearable if he wins. But he is an absolutely amazing player and certainly deserves all he achieves. |

"All credit to him...can he do it with the target on his back? And then year after year after year? Only Taylor has done it and only time will tell "
To be fair, he had a target on his back all year after last years runners up trophy.
Even if he never wins anything again (ain’t happening), he can always call himself a world champion. |

Absolutely….
The astonishing thing is this.. he now ranked world number 2, and the darts world rankings are based on a 2 year window…
because he just started earning money from last year’s world he is not actually defending any ranking money for another 11 months
He will be number 1 at some point coming up to next year’s tournament |

"In 20 years time he'll be in his prime.
Phil Taylor was 35 when he won his first World Title.
That's a scary thought " . It is a scary that in 20 years time he will still be in his prime. However all sports including darts can change very quickly. What I mean by that is Michael Van Gerwen was 24 when he won his first World Championship and was tipped to dominate for 10-20 years.10-12 years on he has won a total of 3.Adrian Lewis who was described as Phil Taylor’s protege won 2 World Championships back to back. Now he is not in the top 16.Then we have Peter Wright a man who has won 2 World Championship one in his late 40’s and another in his 50’s.I guess what I am trying to say is anything can happen especially in darts. |
