Let’s get proper dirty up in here.
Who’s home growing this year and what’s on your list of crops you are growing?
Trying anything new? Anything exotic or unusual?
I have my garlic in the ground and my strawberry patch is rammed full of plants now. I got 25kg of strawberries last year!
Still struggling to grow the basics so won’t try anything new this year, although I need to take advantage of companion planting and will try some space saving ideas.

I have made a start I sprayed my wife's Lady garden with killer in the hope of stopping any growth next year and I put mulch around my sapling and I'm hoping that it will grow into a beautiful Cock tree in the spring |

I'm cutting back this year. I had such a poor harvest last year that I lost interest a bit. Tomatoes, cucumbers, runner beans, courgettes and the fruit from the figs, apples, pears and plums plus a few soft fruits. The fruit needs no effort from me so doesn't really count. |

I know that feeling! I’m mainly just feeding the slugs at this point. But I shall persevere.
My fig tree in the garden really took off last year and I got a few figs, but then the puppies absolutely trashed it 🙄 |

I will do beetroot, onions, shallots, leeks, carrots, lettuce, broccoli , pumpkins, potatoes, parsnips, beans & peas this year

Getting to there is aways off sadly, it's such a cool project.

He has a really cool book on the topic as well. It's a brillant project - quite literally enough food for 5 people in a year (if you were a veggie or vegan) in a very small space. He uses succession planting to achieve it and 4 hours per week on a super rigorous schedule. |

2023 I went outside to discover birds had eaten all the inside of the figs, leaving empty skins. This year I spent ages putting little draw string bags on the fifty largest figs (how to say you're retired without saying you're retired 😅) and was rewarded with a great harvest. |

Allotments here overrun with deer and newbie plot holders obsessed with 'wilding' projects. Getting harder to grow fruit + veg. That said, will persevere with the staples plus a few unusuals like Okra, Chillies, heritage Winter Squash. |

I’ll definitely have to check it out. My allotment is small but I can spare 4 hours a week (I should be outside more)

That sucks! Nothing worse than seeing your whole crop go down. I always seem to get blight on my tomatoes.
I was garlic self sufficient for a while (planting what I grew) but last years bulbs were small, so back to buying seed garlic. |

My bed took a good couple of years before getting a decent harvest. All I do with strawbs is put straw all around them in spring, they tend to look after themselves now.
And all homegrown veg is exciting  |

Would love to grow some veggies but already have too much to do ut this year we will be self sufficient in pork, bacon, sausages, lamb chicken and eggs and hopefully some duck eggs when they start laying and weve found a lovely local fresh milk farm so now have that and we make butter 🤤 |
