NYE sofa roll call

Who else has reached enlightenment and realised that going out on NYE is actually a pretty silly idea - you've got a couch at home, there's no nincompoop wobbling about and spilling cheap fizz on your lap, and no dreaded bus home after you've emptied at least one orifice into an alleyway or the canal.
Maybe you've come prepared, with a nice blanket. |

"I had no intentions of going out, and this weather would have put me off, anyway.
I'm going to have a soak in the bath soon, put my peejays on, make a hot chocolate and start on my new book.
"
What book? |

A Christmas themed one I got as a Christmas present. It's called A Merry Little Christmas by Cathy Bramley. Looks a little different to the usual Christmas cheesy romance books I read. |

Yes. I’ve just opened a bottle of Crémant. I’ve stuffed myself full of food (pudding still to come). Watched Fly Me to the Moon and now I’m just sitting down to Joker: Folie à Deux.
NYE for me is about rounding off a few days of hibernation before returning to reality. |

Yep. Having a coffee and about to watch the Grand Tour. We watched the new Wallace and Grommit earlier. The rest of the world can do one. |

Went out for an early dinner, fully with the intention of being back on the sofa by now...and pleased about that too.
Never was a big fan of New Year's Eve - so quite glad the pressure for a Great Night Out is now off. |

Absolutely. Going out on NYE is pointless. Generally a crap night, everywhere is "ticketed" so you don't just have to pay bar prices you have to pay just to get in, and can be packed full of everyone just waiting for that minute or so at midnight. Then it's getting home afterwards - luckily we're in walking distance of town but we have no night buses, taxis cost a fortune anyway never mind on NYE/early hours on the other rate they can charge.
On the sofa, telly on, bowl of pick n mix and some crisps.
Will be in bed by 12.05 |

Not feeling the need to watch anything.
Being television free helps immensely in that regard.
I am also able to look on with detachment at just how much people are addicted to broadcast entertainment.
..and don't get me going on the apparent need to create violent explosions in the garden.. |

Assuming that 'jel' is an abbreviation for jealous, I suggest checking the significant difference between jealousy and other human conditions such as envy which aren't even necessarily relevant to my observations of how people Spend New Year's Eve, or find themselves on one electricity tariff or other.
What I do feel is grossly immoral about electricity costing is that people with pre payment meters pay significantly more for the privilege of giving the the daylight robbing companies money in advance than I do paying in arrears.
Until fairly recently I was also only paying my arrears quarterly so bags more time to hope that I might never have to pay because I might be dead by the time they took me to court!
N.B. I use exclamation marks where others feel the need to use 'Lol' to explain levity.
Happy New Year! |

We've had a lovely evening in just the two of us. A few glasses of wine. Dressed up smart, candle lit 4 course dinner. Then a naked night on the couch, listening to music and having sex. Then a little snooze. Woke up, watched the fire works outside. Still on the couch naked enjoying Coffee, chocolates, music and each other.
I think base on our normal antics we're being mature and having a wonderful time at it. |

Luxury.
You were lucky to have a donkey cart, we had to crawl home on hands and knees over broken glass,if we were lucky!
You try telling the young people of today and they won't believe you.
