Thought I'd get all festive for the season and change my name to something suitably Christmassy that rhymed with
mysize
and some bugger went and nicked it 😢 I can't be known as mince pies forever more so now what do I call myself?

Fair - practical jokes can be hurtful, but I don't know how well the two people knew each other (I confess I can't tell which Wonko is the "right" Wonko, but I'm sorry if he was upset).
But this thread sounded pretty random so not sure we can have any complaints if someone else uses "our" username if we give it up, especially as most people come nowhere near the Forum. |

It's a tricky one. Regardless of original intent it's a bit of a cunty manoeuvre.
It was a fairly unique name associated with a very unique personality. Quite obvious it was going to cause frustration and again good or bad intentions as a whole jimmies were going to be rustled, and rustled those jimmies were.
On the flip side of that, if you are that attached to your name, don't fucking change it. It happened to Fluffy last year.
We all know people on the Internet can be twats, so don't put yourself in the position to be burned by them like a delicate little arse hole after an extremely spicy meal. |

Maybe at the moment of joining the option to pay a small fee to "copyright style" that particular username until one leaves the site,I certainly think that if a user passes and the site are aware then the use of that name should be forever forbidden out of respect. |

I also remember his threads where you could clearly see he was upset about this

Poor Wonko, hope he comes back.
As for me, I doubt the new mysize took the name on purpose I'm not as big a personality on the forums as the real Wonko.
But it is a bit of a pain - I spent ages last night trying different combinations of words but they all came back with a message saying username already in use.
I so like some of your suggestions, I'll try again later and see if I can find a good fit.
