London

Have you ever moved to a different part of the country/planet when single, in spite of not knowing any other people in the new area?

How did it go starting from scratch, was it a good move or did you later regret it?

Brum - ish

Not quite but I did move to Manchester when my (now ex) husband was serving overseas for months on end. New area, new job - so I pretty much started from scratch.

I’m lucky that I am into phys because I joined a cycling and a tri club and met people through that as well as work - which was in Liverpool so no one was local.

I think if you are thinking of doing this, that you should really put in the work to create support networks if you aren't moving with one already built in. Join clubs, classes, communities, work to meet people so it doesn't become isolating. It can be really exciting to explore etc or it can be miserable and lonely depending on what you put into it.

Trowbridge

Done it twice, about to do it again 3rd time.

I’ve enjoyed my chapters in life, made some great friends, I’m pretty good at making friends & chatting to strangers, which makes it easier

your head

Yes. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be making new friends. I love my life now and have no regrets but I'd do it all over again just to experience living somewhere different again.

I've done it a few times at ages 19, 21, 26.

Would definitely advise as above, to join a club or actively seek out connections.

I was extremely isolated at 19, not much better at 21 but made connections at work, at 26 i moved again and volunteered and societied myself into exhaustion.

Now at 40 something I'm a lot more balanced and would not fear a long distance move to start again.

Horsham

I moved from the North West to Brighton, it turned ok for me. I moved down for a job, then found friends afterwards.
