last minute preparations

What do you still need to do?
I have to make brandy butter, make some bread rolls, buy milk, cook a beef and gammon joint.
Because I have all this to do I'm laying in bed scrolling through fab...🤷♀️ |

I need to make more fudge. The last batch, over half of it ended up flooding the microwave, clogging the sink and coating the cat food bag.
Whoever told me microwave fudge is easy needs a smack cos I ended up with 2 burns on my fingers too  but lessons have been learned and I'm gonna try again cos it's damn good fudge and I need to give some to the lady in the shop who always gives my kid Christmas presents. |

I was going to make some fudge for my dad (easy to eat when you've got false teeth) but I bought some instead  , it's no substitute for home made though |

Make it in a slow cooker instead. Turns out great.
I'm taking my parents to my brother & sister-in-law's for lunch tomorrow. They always ask me to make dessert, so I'll make another cake like the one in my profile pic, but only 2 layers, not 3. That's today's job. |

Make it in a slow cooker instead. Turns out great.

I am feeling very smug and relaxed as everything here is done and dusted. For the first time ever we celebrated Christmas on the 23rd so two of my children could spend Christmas with their spouses' families. |

Have a nice relaxed day. I haven't really got too much to worry about. The meat will basically cook itself, the bread maker will mix the dough and brandy butter is hardly cordon bleu cookery. |

I just need to clear the crap from the dining table. We’ll get our usual takeaway curry tonight to reheat tomorrow - this became our new family tradition in 2018 as we got married a few days after Xmas & didn’t need the stress of a roast dinner on top & the kids had already had a dinner with their dad.

Prep the veg. Vacuum. Hang up a few more paper stars. Possibly nip to a shop and get some more cheese/cake as a couple more of the extended family announced yesterday they're coming over tomorrow. That's fine, I love last minute additions... |

The hotel staff have just piled industrial quantities of party food into the kid's club. There's enough to feed a small army. It's stuff like this that attracts us to keep coming away! |

I have a few gifts to wrap, a kitchen to clean before I leave for three days, some laundry to hang up to dry, my bag to pack to take with me, and a bath before I go.

Finish work, have shower, go to pub, head back to hotel, sleep.
Get up early for 7am shift on Xmas day. Drink coffee, eat leftover sandwiches from canteen, go back to hotel, drink beer, watch crap TV, sleep.
