Christmas can be the hardest time, all the expectations and forced joy. The overwhelm, the pressure and sometimes the realisation that it's really just another day.
Hope everyone manages to have time that works for them. |

Realise this is more of a chat thread but happened to watch an interesting youtube the other day, there's some good insights into understanding self, others, inner and outer projection, building friendships, what to avoid and build on - both from a body language perspective and a social one. Some bits are a little jargony but on the whole it's quite insightful. It's long, but doesn't feel so.

Been there in a situation at Christmas suffering with anxiety and depression.....not nice at all.

It’s a tough time of year and the absolutely worst sorts of people do the forced jollyfication.
I’ve seen myself in past at Christmas parties asking someone sitting quietly if they’re okay and there’s always going in with everybody and the need to be happy around Christmas sort of makes it worse for them.

I guess I’m not the only who thinks 2024 can do one, it’s been a tough year and doing it alone is in so many ways not how life is supposed to be done, yet here we all are clinging on at times, thanks for posting OP sending love to you all as god knows you all need it x |

I'm constantly/permanently surrounded by people in my professional life but still lonely as hell most of the time but I'm lucky that I have family to come back to at Christmas. I don't know how I would cope otherwise without them at this time of year so I know how lucky I am. I feel for anyone who isn't as fortunate as I am to at least have a Happy Place to go to on Christmas Day 🙏 |
