"Complete waste of time. Bread is easy enough in an oven.
I don't know how to make bread in an oven, but I do know how to easily put bread mix in my breadmaker and turn it on "
I sometimes use a mix but I've always got bread flour and yeast in the cupboard |

"Are we talking white, brown or mixted flour? I also like milk rather than water. And you need good yeast too - couple of teaspoons"
White for me please. I use milk too and an egg as I said. I was just wondering if anyone used anything else to ring the changes.
It would seem not 🤣 |

To be fair I sometimes experiment. Often add things like seeds in. I did a mild chilli one recently and that was nice. My best bread rolls I made before were olive ones and don't tell me that surprises you |

It doesn't surprise me at all. I've added olives before but I was thinking of trying walnuts. |

Yes walnuts are great. I do a walnut and date one. Sundried tomato ones are good too. |

I struggle to adjust the liquid content with olives and sun-dried tomatoes, as they tend to release moisture when they're mixed.
I make a mean fruit loaf, well the bread maker does 🥳 |

"I love the German Zwiebelbrot, or onion bread. Not made it successfully . It's delicious . Caramelised onions mixed into the dough. "
Sounds lovely. I struggle with anything that has moisture in it. It makes the dough too wet and I'm rubbish at estimating how much to reduce the liquid by |

"Everyone who uses one. What's your favourite recipe for bread rolls please? I usually use a rich dough with milk and eggs
My mind immediately thought " blessed are the bread makers " 🤣🤣🤣"
I accept the blessing |

I make bread for a living, instead of reducing the water keep adding tiny amounts of flour, if you add to much it will dry out, if you're making it by hand that is, I've made onion bread before, I added a few onions, kneaded it in, then added a few more, until there was enough onions in dough. |

I don’t use a bread maker but string White or 50-50 flour when I need a good workout and then I just use Water, yeast or sourdough and salt normally. I have substituted the water for pale ale the odd time ! I also sometimes put a baking tray full of water at the bottom of the oven |

I know myself well enough to know that I wouldn't do it by hand. I have done in the past but I need to make bread two or three times a week and I'd end up buying the horrible shop stuff .
Thanks for the tip, I reckon I could keep do that with the bread maker by carefully adding flour while it was mixing and kneading |

I might try the water tray when I'm cooking the rolls |

I read but haven’t tried it that you can coat the fruit in flour so some of the moisture is soaked up by that |
