Oh my god, can't believe how much our shop cost.

For the last few years we have purchased roughly the same amount with the only difference we usually wait until Christmas eve to buy the Turkey.

But it's just cost about £100 more than roughly the same amount as last year and that's from Aldi I dread to think about how much it would have been if we'd gone Asda or Tesco.

The veg is cheaper in Tesco -15p a bag for potatoes, carrots, swede, sprouts, parsnips and broccoli

How people manage with very large families god knows.

I think if you had a large group staying over for a few days, you'd probably be looking at best part of a grand.

We've bought things as we've gone along and taken advantage of certain things eg half price beef in Sainsbury and used nectar points to buy the turkey but we've still racked up a higher bill than last year by quite a lot.

I spent £160 the other day and still have chilled things to get. I did buy some chocolates and booze for presents too so it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be
