Was it as good as you'd imagined ?

You know it varies across the country, right?

It sure does. For the record sunrise in Preston today was 8.26

The solstice is after 9 apparently

It's rainy and cloudy here so it didn't feel particularly significant. I am pleased though because it means we're on the way to longer days again.

Do I have to pre-empt any snarky 'days are all the same length' pedantry? No? Good. 😁

I'm so tired I read that as "snaky days".

Worse - for about 5 seconds I knew exactly what a snaky day was 😭😭😭 xxxx

A strange one, but my world is never normal as a norm. For the things in general quite disappointment.

Could have done with that big Euro win.

Though I do find it fascinating that if we look at solar time then it is this part of the year when the days are their longest. The shortest day is mid September which is not 6 months away because there are effects from both the tilt of the Earth and the elliptical orbit.

And I wrote all that without using "well actually" ... wait... dammit.
