"Anything with 'for your age' tagged on the end.
A friend once told me "you could look good if you had money" "
I put "look good for your age" but then deleted the post.
I personally dislike that comment.
And another one, is" had a hard paper round" |

Adding for your age negates the compliment somewhat i think. I feel the same when someone says "you still look good". It's patronising |

"Wow, you totally pass as a woman 💜
True though 🤷.
Man if I had been born with a penis I'm pretty sure I'd be rolling in even more dick than I am now 💜"
Either way, you're adorable 💜.
My worst one to receive was a veri in 2016, old profile:
"His photos just don't do him justice."
All the right sentiment, but you can still hear "he's fuck ugly in pictures" in there somewhere 🫤. |

“Well done looking after the kids on your own.”
Like I get the sentiment, it’s hard, yeah. But it’s life, also. I find it very patronising, like I’m not capable? Get told it daily, my blanket response now is to just nod and smile but often I’ll say “thanks for the mildly patronising compliment.” |

People still assume that men aren't capable of parenting their own children 🙄.
My mum was terrible for that. When I was working and Mr N was home she wondered how he managed 🤦 |

I've had "you're quite well spoken for someone common", and that was a HR Director!
And the usual, "good looking for a bigger lad", and "oh, you're actually better looking than I thought you'd be".
"You have an aesthetically pleasing penis" was a bit odd too. |

There's a certain subset of British people who still believe that Australians live in the stone age.
Take the energy of "for your age" and you'll understand "for a colonial".
People are shocked I've heard of Shakespeare, let alone studied him, that I know anything about history, geography, architecture, etc.
One of my ex's, siblings, meeting my father for the first time, spent all of dinner explaining to him in painful detail the most basic things in the world. Which he wouldn't know. He's only a colonial. (I was stunned my dad didn't lose his shit) |

Exactly this, men cannot look after kids, apparently. |

My ex-husband was rather baffled by this attitude, too. Especially if someone asked if he was "babysitting" so I could go out. |

I just don’t get it. Like, yeah, it can be tough and to solo parent 24/7 it is hard. But no one needs a ‘well done’ sticker.
And because I have twins if I’d had £1 for each time someone says “you’ve got your hands full” to me, I’d be a billionaire. |

"You looking good for a (insert skin colour and nationality here). My friend was told “he looks good for a Pxxx”, even though he is Israeli."
These are the worst kind of insults. Really turns me off people instantly.
Generally followed by, “does your mum cook a good curry?” It’s akin to asking a white person “what are your mums roast potatoes like?” |
