I mean I try my best folks but some shite is just not readable,, how long does one need to tell the Fab world how they like their Sausages. 
Ulysses was an easier read to some profiles on here and that's saying something.  |

For me, it depends on whether it’s full of ranty and moany guff, or if there’s some substance worth reading.
But fussed about the length. I’ve yet to find one that took more than 2-3 minutes to read. |

I’ve never read North and South. I will now though. War and Peace deserves its status (I like the Russians), and it’s not a difficult book, just long, like Vikram Seth’s A Suitable Boy. But Ulysses… Hmm. I don’t know. I can appreciate the linguistic pyrotechnics, at points, but it’s deliberately challenging, as if Joyce didn’t really want people to read it. Finnegan’s Wake is even worse. |

And I loved A Suitable Boy! What a really fascinating story. I think that has similar themes to North and South. At the heart of it is a love story but surrounded by all the context of what's going on at the time. |

I read it decades ago. I wanted to read all those huge, stately books that smart talked about in reverential tones… the upside though, on that little journey I also read Gravity’s Rainbow, which is a work of insane genius and I developed a huge crush on Thomas Pynchon - greatest living novelist 😁 I am 🙏🤞for one last novel before he sadly moves on to the next life 💀 |

Have you read An Equal Music? Significantly shorter, but such a beautiful romance 😍 Seth is a kind of quiet master storyteller, such depth and empathy in his writing. I’ve heard rumours of a huge advance on A Suitable Girl. Don’t know if it’s true. |

I have read An Equal Music and some of his Seth's collections of poetry. After A Suitable Boy I sort of fangirled over him a little bit. |

If a profile is too long for someone then I see it as a good filter.
If you can't be arsed to read what someone has written then you're not compatible. It's a 'you' problem, not a 'them' problem.
It also explains why people send messages to those that if they'd spent a couple of minutes reading, would have realised it was never going to get a response.
And why some people don't get any messages in the first place. If people know nothing about you they'll move on to a profile that gives a good insight. 🤷♂️ |

I adore North and South, except for the very climax of the love story. In the final chapter, Margaret is looking through her papers and he says "Margaret. Margaret" and all I can hear is the Little Britain shop sketch: https://youtu.be/PFQ_ZrRqBlQ?si=8KCMIQGAHDsCKF4V
It's one of the very rare times I prefer the tv adaptation to the book, mainly because I'm not hearing it in Matt Lucas' voice! |

I don't mind reading a longer profile if it's well written. The reality is... they're often a far, far cry from the classics.
The repetition, the wishy washy nonsensical statements, the nonsense about Sydney University, the obvious lies, the rambling, the inability to keep interest through varied punctuation/sentence length; some could really do with a good edit.
I've never found a profile that's too long to read, all that being typed. Occasionally I read one and actually enjoy it. Very occasionally.
It's not a me or them problem - simple incompatibility isn't a problem. |

I'll be honest - literature largely begins for me in the 1890s (with some exceptions) but I enjoyed North and South, definitely worth a read.
I recently bought a copy of A Suitable Boy from a charity shop but not sure when I'll get around to it. |

I'm all for reading a well written gospel piece that has a bit of life and soul and banter to it, but a shopping list of does and don'ts and must have this must have that plus the Sydney uni crap it's getting a tad old |

see to me if you not prepared to read a profile that long even tho it take no time to read then your not going to be good with detail in bed lazy is lazy..
the real reason guys dont want to read do's and dont is because they dont like the thought of being rejected before they even start so they moan that there too many hoops to jump thru but truth is they would not be interested in you anyway as thats why the hoops are there to say no thanks .... |

whoo whoo hold the reins there Dr Phil, some of us have zero issues reading a good long profile when it's informative,witty and well written but those are not the ones mentioned here , And FYI this is fab, I'd say most men are well used to rejection here , they might not need to read war and peace to find it. |

I like long things - profiles, kisses, iced teas…
I dislike ranty things & copy and pasted things.
I’m not into short messages, profiles or dalliances.
If my profile is too long to read, then I’m guessing the attention span won’t be there. It’s a good filter. |
