dont get me wrong, i like tattoos but why do these women choose to have these tattoos which from more than 3 feet away look like bloody great black splodges, surely there are more pretty ones they can have and less expensive too |

I don't know but I met a woman with a tattoo on her neck recently and it's sorted of flame-like.
Which is ironic because when I am talking to her I can feel the heat in my neck rising, which she finds very amusing and likes to point out my ears are turning red.

The big difference for me is when I started 30 years ago you

Chose some flash art
Was done as they wanted with needles which were cleaned in surgical equipment and not new per person
Also were in non high street areas
Now
Some of the art work is amazing
Work is far more individual
Cleanliness and hygiene for the most is top notch

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I personally love tattoos, wish I had more than the 2 I’ve got, both have meaning behind them and I consider them beautiful, plus I’m saving up for my 3rd which again has a meaning behind it. If you don’t like tattoos then don’t look at the person with them.. simple!!  |

I spy a "bloody great black splodge" OP but would expect you to defend it as pretty. This is the same for any other person, the artwork is a personal choice for the individual.
My body is adorned with ink and I have never given consideration to whether it could be seen from 3 feet away, instead I consider the size and placement to suit my body's contours.
