On This Morning TV on about Tattoos and saying celebrites encourage ... them.?

The band's request sparked controversy since many of the group's fans are under 18, with some suggesting it would encourage underage teens to get tattoos.

And, with so many celebrities including Rhianna, Justin Bieber, David Beckham and Cheryl Cole having tattoos, we are asking - are celebrities' tattoos a bad influence?

No. Studios that tattoo underage and eBay selling tattoo equipment to anyone is giving tattooing a bad name. Tattooing itself dates back thousands of years and has a place in most cultures.

"Thy was saying some have them to shock and stand out only way thay can ..? Why thay worrie about under 18 ."

Because the law states 18 in this country. It's a permanent body modification and should require a good thought process to decide on the design and placement as its not something that's easy to undo. There's also the common rumour that its allowed at 16 with parental consent, which is wrong.

You'll always find that people will say its all for shock value, mostly they're the people who don't have them, like them or understand them. You never hear a tattoo'd person complain about those without them...

But that's just kids for you, if its not tattoos, it's piercings or dying your hair a shocking colour, some kids will rebel some wont you can't blame others for that, even if their fave singer didn't have tattoos they would probably have one anyway

Tatoos to me are pointless dont get ne wrong some look ok but when folk say its not mainly vanity i find hard to believe.

Especially when on the back or neck some as in case of my daughter says its there as symbolises her and is for her only then why have it where you cannot see it yourself.

I don't blame celebrities for encouraging tattoos, I do blame them to an extent for encouraging bad tattoos. I know so many girls through voluntary work that have tattoos on their wrists. When I ask why they got it done? Because Cheryl Cole has one. Many of these girls are under 18, and their tattoos were done at home by someone who bought equipment off ebay.

I spend a lot of time in a tattoo shop, and some of the stuff that walks in their is unreal. The other day a girl walked in, said to one of the artists "I have 4 bad tattoos. Fix them." When he asked her why she had 4 by the same person, when they were so bad, her answer was "they were free".

People don't think about tattoos enough. And the problem is for every good artist that is picky about what they tattoo, on who, and where, there are 5 crap artists that are in it for the money.

If kids are dumb enough to get tattoo's just because their idol has one then there's no hope for them anyway.

your right in saying that some people don't think and its only after and then to late .. To me some are a work of Art and takes a artist to do them. Thay have a gift some people who do tattoos and some are better then others been looking at body art years , But end of the day whats wright for them.

I had my first tattoo when i was 14-15, it was almost a rite of passage in the area from where im from. had what 90% of the lads from round here had done, just my name.

But like said before, tattoos are just a celebrity fad at the moment, where celebrities have them and display them publicly, yeah it can influenece younger people but if they want to copy their heros, let them. its them thats gonna have to look at them in years to come and think "what was i thinking of?"

I was 13 when I had my first one, with my mums consent. Only cause she knew I'd do it anyway

Jesus, I have very prominent tattoos - each one of these was carefully considered for a long time before I went through with them. Each one is a one off design never to be repeated - the originals were shredded in front of me.

I held down a very successful job with a skinhead and tattoos - my reputation, work ethic and forward thinking overruled my look every time.

If someone won't give me a job because of how I look then I don't want to work for such a backward company anyway.

Since having my tattoo's my confidence has grown significantly. I love each and everyone one.
