Good lord, so many to choose from. Sci-Fi is my favourite genre, so there is never just one. I'll keep my ADHD happy by mentioning a few lol.
Interstellar
District 9
The Martian
Starship Troopers
Ex Machina
Fight the... urge to name... loads more... |

The Martian is superb. Completely forgot about that.
I would also say Arrival is up there for me. |

What I love most about it as well, aside from it's an incredible film, is the science actually works! Same with Interstellar. There is a LOT of real science in those two films and I love it. 🥰
Yeah, for sure! I would add Arrival to my list of many, many Sci-Fi films I love lol. |

I’m far too dumb to comprehend what was going on in Interstellar. Although I think I’m right in saying Neil deGrasse Tyson was an advisor on the film.
Moon is also a great watch |

"I really love Event Horizon"
Oh also love Event Horizon
Think Blade Runner and Aliens were great and ahead of there time
Recently enjoyed Oblivion but maybe my love of Redheads/Andrea Riseborough had an influence |

"I really love Event Horizon"
Yes! Another wicked film.
Also a very good "unofficial prequel film" to the world of Warhammer 40,000. The dimension they find through the sphere is The Warp, the Realm of Chaos. A dimension of the dead, lost souls and daemonic beings. |

"Dune ...both parts togheter
Lisan Al-Gaib!!!!"
I really did enjoy the new Dune. Have yet to see the second, because I like to watch them at home. Where I can pause and go for a wee. 😆
But I'm excited to see it! |

No, that was Kip Thorne, who wrote a book on gravitational physics. But the film was praised by Neil for it's accuracy in portraying how gravity and time work (who I follow on YouTube).
Moon was also amazing, with Sam Rockwell. Love that film too! |

The amount of times I say "biiiig bada boom" when I hear a bang is ridiculous lol |

"Someone check up on Kernho-ho-ho, I think he may have fainted.
He’s fine, last seen in the sci fi category on the hub "
Haha, I'm okay. 😂 Sometimes I get excited and hyperactive, especially about things I enjoy.
I'd flood the thread, if I let it win. So a little timeout, calm down. Start over lol. |

Not really. I have friends who do, but I've never played it. I'm mostly interested in the lore surrounding Chaos. It's a fascinating read.
Haha, a little obsessive is he? 🤭 It really has that ability to devour people lol.
There are some things where I find the lore more interesting than the media themselves.
Star Wars, for example. Not a huge fan of the films, but the lore? Amazing. Hundred Year Darkness, The Old Republic (my favourite), worth a read for sure! Far better than anything from the Skywalker Saga. 🥱 Back when Sith and Jedi were ridiculously powerful, not the diluted crap they insist on showing these days lol. |

I like both, for different reasons. But yeah, absolutely love the original and have you watched it so many times over the years. |

"
Tetsuo - The Iron Man"
I think I saw this or maybe tetsuo 2. A man’s body begins to fuse with his weapon , great movie.
I also like
The Island
Limitless
Source code
Dune remakes 1&2
Lesser well known, Another Earth written by & staring the gorgeous Brit Marling , really interesting sci fi concept about a 2nd Earth, with a second you, and your other life starts to diverge from yours at the point you first spotted 2nd Earth in the sky. Unfortunately for her that happened at the wrong time….. no more spoilers, check it out if into indie sci fi |

Sorry to be a pedant but the first "Thing" film was the excellent 1950s The Thing from another world. "Who goes there" was the original book/short story by John W Campbell on which subsequent films were based. |
