Terry Griffiths died yesterday,always a gentleman throughout his career. Just watched BBC news but I never realised he won the world title at his very first attempt. Turned professional aged 30,qualified for the world championship in his second ever professional tournament and won. He was a postman and insurance salesman and in his first professional year he earned £75k and said "We didn't know what to do with it".Pure class |
