Waxing, good idea? Bad idea?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Hello. Looking for a females point of view on having your delicate areas waxed.
I am very hairy as thats how hubby likes it. However now we want to play, I think I would prefer to offer a more well groomed area. I prefer less hair too.
Can anyone offer some real advice on the waxing experience, after care, pain levels etc please?
(Missed out on girly stuff as grew up as such an innocent, sheltered person.
In need of some sisterly energy) x |

First and foremost, go with what you’re comfortable with!
But if you do decide to try waxing, I’ve been having a Hollywood for around 20 years. I don’t find it particularly painful - sharp at various points but nothing too bad. The longer you use waxing, the easier it gets.
Be aware that you’ll need a level of regrowth before you can get another wax. This puts some people off but it doesn’t need to be long and the hair appears finer over time. I go every 3-4 weeks and book around big club events 😂
Positives are softer and obviously slower regrowth and it’s a damn site easier than trying to do pretty much any other hair removal method yourself, assuming you’re looking to go to a salon.

"Oh, after care!
Very easy. Avoid hot showers, saunas etc. immediately after. Exfoliate regularly. But your therapist would take you through all that. "
Thank you for your comments.
Yes I will be getting it done professionally. I just have to find a nice person I can trust and will do a good job.
I really appreciate your input xx |

I’d always say make sure it’s what you want, not someone else. If you’ve not waxed before and have a lot of growth you might want to shave and let it grow through. Long hairs are going to pull and make it much more painful that first time. It does become something you get use to.
Your waxer will give you aftercare information. And as has been said, be prepared you’ll need some growth before you can redo it |

Why jump in with two feet an wax OP, why not just trim with a set of clippers and shave. You'll at least see if you like it without experiencing all the pain it involves. If you like being smooth, let it grow a cm or two then find someone.
You'll have to let it settle down then exfoliate after a few days with either one, then once or twice weekly or in-growing hairs with be the bane of your life. Shaving or waxing you'll have greater sensation, one is less hassle but more expensive, the other is free but a labour of love. |
