"It's expensive.
A friend with a health issue just paid £185 for one weeks travel insurance"
Just dealing with our travel insurance. Without going into details, they want over £500 for annual multi trip insurance that covers the same medical conditions as the last time we paid for it. Last time was £151. The undiagnosed, ongoing investigation issue is excluded anyway so shouldn't impact the premium.
Over £500! |

"That's a lot! However it's less than a hefty medical bill
I know. It's just not anticipated as being so much more than previously "
Yeah. My friend was shocked at the cost of a week. It adds a lot to the cost of travel doesn't it |

Some bank accounts offer inclusive travel insurance as part of what your premium fee pays for. Obviously, the insurer providing cover may add on extra fees or exclusions but it's worth looking at, when comparing. |

"Travel insurance isn't compulsory. Don't take it up, take your chances and then come moaning in here if/when something happens and it's cost you thousands to get it sorted."
Thank you for your illuminating and helpful contribution, as always |

Before any more helpful comments, we WILL be taking out some form of insurance. It's now a case of whether to totally exclude my medical conditions (affordable policy) or to include them (£500+). The last time we took out a policy with the same insurer in 2023, including my conditions being covered, it was £350 cheaper for the same policy, same excess etc. |
