I’ve searched through previous posts with similar content and the majority of the posts are over a year old so I thought I’d create a new one 
I wondered if there are any group chats away from Fab? For friendship. General chit chat etc.
I know the site is what it is, but I’m keen to build friendships with likeminded people too

There are. However these are closed groups created in the aftermath of group social events, alumni groups and such things.
I suspect other groups for more nefarious purposes exist.

The adverts are annoying but groups can be good and as long as good admin they are nice to get to know people |

I don’t think the Cambridge(shire) social scene is saying a huge amounts but that would probably be your best bet.
Alternatively engaging in a few of the forum threads and games will definitely increase your interactions and engagements with fellow fabbers.
Are you accepting of (platonic) friendships with males or solely couples and females? |
