What do you wish you could take from London and put in another town or city?

And what would you add to London to make it better?

I second the public transport.

I don't know what I'd give London it seems to have everything.

I would like people in London to be forced to spend a week somewhere else in the country so they can see that London is nothing like the rest of the UK and that the rest of us are pretty chill. You all need to calm down, realise that it’s ridiculous to stand on the left of the escalator because you overtake on the left.

I do like the public transport.

Transport and 24 hrs shopping.

Well yes, that would be nice down here too. Although you'd probably find rents around here laughably small.

I'll take the Lego store though.

"What do you wish you could take from London and put in another town or city?

I’d take the museums/theatres/music venues/media industry. You can keep the rest.

Things I’d add to London… not sure how to word it. I’d give it more of a chilled out feel. I don’t mind it being busy that’s cool. But so many people are aggy down there. Loads of people with bad attitudes. Loads of loud people with no manners. And looooooads of people living for social media.

For example, I used to love Canary Wharf and I lived there for summer 3 years in a row. I noticed what started as a nice chill place, slowly turned chavvy. And that was mostly driven by people who were coming to the area purely for social media posts. Big groups hanging on the streets for photos pretending to be rich - and kicking off when people would walk in front of the camera. Going to bars and ordering one drink between them to pose with. Kicking off at other people who even look in their direction. Misbehaving and acting rowdy all for ego. Thinking it’s rebellious to disrupt and mock people in the area and film it Etc.

You get it everywhere but London it’s multiplied by 1000. So I’d remove all that ego stuff.

Whew I rambled there.

La la land

Probably move a lot of the employers all over the country. Know there are moves to decentralise so that jobs and wealth are spread across the country.

On a more selfish note, some of the museums, know they loan some of their stuff, but some of the rural museums would really benefit from top notch displays.

The variety of restaurants. There are 5 Italians in my very small town. At least 2 of those could be swapped out for a Thai/Mexican/Syrian.

I've been, didn't love it - but it's fine. I did like sunbathing and babes yes, but it's fucking expensive. More so than London.

Also London is generally safe!

Dubai isn't for me. I like cities with a bit more history and feel to it. No disrespect to Dubai. Best Arab city I've ever visited is probably Amman in Jordan.

I'd take the transport system out, as it's top notch ,once you get used to it, and inject all the finer sides to humanity that rural Britain has that is seriously lacking in London .

Ref public transport, my place of work is 17 miles from home

My commute by car is 35-45 minutes (even allowing for rush hour traffic)

If I had to make the same journey by public transport, I would be looking at circa 3 hours each way

If you are going into the city centre great, but if you want to travel from one north of city suburb to another north of city suburb, you aren't doing that unless you go into the city centre

AHH here if they move the museums pal, they might end up giving everyone else their 💩 back and then the locals be stuck looking at sticks and stones and a few swords ⚔️🗡️ and not much else. Ye would be then forced to open a WW1&² museum in every city just to have something to show for yourselves,,

No no ,best leave that slippery slope well alone.

Not the British museum which is an an absolutely brilliant advertisement for looting. The only stuff not in there is what they couldn’t fit in boat back in the day.

They’ve a science, a natural history and the v&a on the same street
