Do you believe there are real witches would you date one
Jump to: Newest in thread
Most entities with so-called supernatural or paranormal abilities tend to avoid, for their own health, overexposure to my so-called supernatural or paranormal abilities.
Which, in the main, is wise of them.

Of course …
Proving they could not put a spell on you - in effect become your mind reader … then I think there would be Hubble bubble toil and trouble ! 👿
( we would only see an outbreak of witches again if Ergot fungi became wide spread again - ) |

"I tend to stay well clear of anyone with strong religious beliefs, no matter which religion. They're all nonsense."
Most people regularly practice wishing and hoping , despite the complete lack of scientific evidence…..

Totally different things. Not sure how (or why) you conflate wishing with believing?

"Lighting a candle and repeating something 5 times does not make you a witch.
That probably rules out about 90% of those that think they are. "
A witch is a completely imagined existence. Someone lighting a candle and chanting has as much basis for believing they're a witch as anyone else.

I'm not sure if I believe as such, but I'm open to the possibility and could be convinced by sufficient evidence.
I don't see any reason why I wouldn't date one as long as they're my kind of person otherwise 💜 |

My religion accepts everyone - we are oldest pluralistic religion on the earth and one of the largest chunk of total population on the planet who still follow paganism. Our religion Bright and Dark both - you can follow any path based on your own traits and virtues - we don’t judge…so witches, devils and gods, and deities all are worshipped equally. |

I did date someone who claimed to be a witch, many moons ago.
I say date, I still don't really understand what that relationship was, 25 years later.
I think that was the last time I allowed breasts to be the determining factor, when considering sexual attraction. |

Everything was sounding reasonable about Paganism until that last sentence about connecting with entities in the astral world.
That put it slap bang in line with all the unreasonable religions! |

No. Sparks would fly because of my scientific, evidence-based principles. I'll happily accept anyone's beliefs, but asking me to accept claimed paranormal ability would need scientific scrutiny. No one between 1964 and 2015 achieved the threshold of evidence to satisfy the James Randi foundation and demonstrate claimed powers. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and the burden of proof is on the one making the claims. Said claims need to be tested, because if indeed they are verifiable, then congratulations, you've just won a Nobel prize and changed the course of science (at the very least). That's nothing to shy away from and scientists are always looking for the next great discovery.

Depends on what is meant by 'witch'.
If people mean the childhood fairy story witch with magical powers riding on a broom stick who can turn people into frogs etc ...... then no.
If people mean a woman who has made a pact with the devil and aims to do harm to others as depicted and reviled in the bible in order to facilitate demonisation and demise ... then no
If people mean the village healers in Cromwellian times who were put to trial and burned or drowned in the name of religion then I believe they existed as the good women of the village who helped others but once again in order for religion to have total control of the people they were branded witches and murdered in the name of God ........ then yes.
If you mean modern day blessers, charmers or white witches - wiccans etc then I believe they exist but I don't believe in their powers to influence anything.
There are courses to take and books to read to become a witch so they do exist but not in the form that we might imagine |

"There are no witches, magic is not real, Mrs x where is your proof " I don't need proof, you need proof to prove something. So until somebody can do that then they are simply not real, a fairy story for kids. Mrs x

Mrs xmy name is Victoria not Mrs and people family got put in prison and hung for being accused being witch but they wasn't doing anything bad they was trying to heal people and help people Victoria " Hi Victoria, I'm Mrs, that's how I sign of a message wasn't anything disparaging.
I'm aware of the awful treatment of wise woman who helped others and suffered terribly for this. This is another example of the persecution of our sex by male dominated society. Something that sadly continues to day in parts of the world.
Men were terrified of clever woman, essential doctors or nurses, using knowledge the men didn't have and therefore couldn't control, to help their fellow villagers.
This fear led them to accuse these woman of unholy practices, accusing them of witchcraft to have them removed permanently from their communities so they could exert influence over things the menfolk knew nothing about.
That's a tragedy but it's not evidence of witches or witchcraft, there was no magic involved just herbal remedies. The witchcraft stigma was a fiction used by men to rid themselves of 'troublesome' intelligent woman.
So no I don't believe in witches.

Occult practices are very common in my part of the world, even Aboriginal people in Australia do follow some..Latin America is full of such practices..in my religion we don’t consider Yolo - we have to come back again unless we liberate ourselves with guided practices, not many can do it, but the process and rituals are well defined. Witches would treat you based on your own nature and virtues, you invoke one to fulfill your desire - now your desire can be anything, so be careful…Google “Karn Pishachini”and see yourself. |

A very fair appraisal, Granny.
Should be up there in the Google search results on 'Witches'. |
