Good city, plenty of independent outlets still, some great parks, amenities for families with kids and entertainment venues be that pubs or theatres..
Yes traffic can be a mare but that can be said for pretty much everywhere..

Loads. It's ok. I'm not a city person and only go to them for specific reasons. It has a well managed half marathon every year. It's also on the mainline from London so trains traveling west to Swansea run till late on weekday nights.
On the plus side, much of its grandeur was paid for by the exploitation of local people in various industries as opposed to the usual thing of empire and sl#ves - though it has its share of those too.

"I lived there for 7 years. Just no. Physically it’s essential Croydon with an added Castle, socially it’s very disjointed and at odds with itself as a community and is provincial in its outlook. "
Absolute rubbish, couldn't be more wrong |

good for music scene again now after a short lull .... some good afterclub blues if you know where to look ... the city has the oldest record shop in the world and kellys records in the market has a massive selection of second hand stuff too. good independent world food places to eat up city road. |

Disagree..
I know Croydon more than I know Cardiff and the former whilst it's not as bad in parts as it's made out simply doesn't compare..
