"How do you feel about Christmas starting after Halloween, if not before, and do you feel it overshadows having a birthday in the last two months of the year?"
November birthday (it's passed) anything Christmas related doesn't start till December in my house, October is for Halloween and November is for fireworks night. I have family and friends with December and early January birthdays and I always make the effort to make there birthdays special and nothing xmas related. |

Worse than that is when people give you one gift and graciously inform you that it’s for your birthday and Christmas!! What a rip off!!
As you can tell it scarredme as a child and I’m still bitter!! 🫣 |

Hope you had a good birthday.
I’m just mindful of the overshadowing and it seems the Xmas hype is starting so much earlier |

Understandable and not very nice to do that to a kid. |

I imagine that would be disappointing and always do 2 gifts. Although if their birthday was really close to Xmas day maybe I would consider 1 more expensive gift? |

Had that most of my life, even had birthday presents wrapped in Xmas paper... it's a cop out!

Our eldest is a December baby and every year I give him the choice as to whether we decorate for Christmas before his birthday or after. Every year he has chosen before. But he always gets a party and separate presents. Though it is a pain thinking of enough things to give him presents twice in one month. |

November 22nd here. I used to enjoy getting the double whammy of presents but now my birthday is sort of a non event. Mainly because of the time of year everybody is busy etc.
Plus my grandmother had the nerve to die on my birthday so on that date my family are mostly feeling sad and reminiscing about her. |

My birthday is within the first week of December. Christmas decorations do not (and never have) go up until the weekend after my birthday.
It generally has never really been a problem as I’ve been spoilt by my family at Christmas and my birthday (only child!) and partners have been the same too. So I guess I’ve been very lucky (and spoilt!).

My birthday is just before. Christmas... It really bugs me. No one can ever come out cos they're too busy, skint or at Christmas parties and even going out for lunch/dinner, it's all Christmas themed! |

My birthday is New Years day, means it always gets celebrated on New Years eve.
Everyone is normally too knackered to celebrate my birthday or come and see me. Sometimes it feels a little shitty but that's just life.

I make sure my birthday doesn't get forgotten about, as I take the piss and do a birthday countdownn,so no fucker forgets it! 🤣🤣🤣
My birthday is very soon and I've got my Christmas Tree up already, always have it done by my birthday usually.
As for 1 present for both occasions- they can go to fuck with that idea! 🤭 |

I couldn't agree more! My birthday is next week and I refuse to have anything to do with Christmas until it's over. As you say, Halloween in October, Bonfire Night in November, and I would add Remembrance Day, then Christmas.
The build up starts earlier and earlier. I fear the event itself can never live up to the hype. Advent starts on 1st December. |

Neither November or December but very early January. As a young child getting joint occasion presents was annoying.
As an adult I like it. People are usually preoccupied with new year etc so it can casually go by unnoticed which exactly what I'm looking for now. |
