Speaking of copyright, McVitie's invented the Jaffa Cake in 1927 but didn't copyright the name. That's why multiple companies get to use the name. |

It takes 70-80 x more energy input or extraction to phase change -0.1C ice to 0.1C water (and vice versa), than it does to raise the temperature from 0.1C to 1.1C. (roughly)
This is why a lot of people will never understand the ice melting off of the supporting polar ice shelves, that will be unlikely to be replaced, will cause relentless rises. This also affects the overall albedo effect. (reflected heat back into space)
Probably a few scientists in here that can explain better...

This is also something I knew but it amazes me. Seriously if ever I have some kind of eureka moment, it's getting patented or copyrighted. |
