I used to be always shielding people from the truth, but soon developed a hate of having to lie constantly.
I don't intend to hurt anyone, but if me telling the truth hurts, that's out of my control. But I do always make sure that I'm polite. I think that's the main difference. |

"Are you more a "hurt them with the truth" or "hurt them with a lie" type of person??"
Neither if I can help it. Being able to lie to avoiding hurting someone is highly empathetic and an important social skill. Sometimes though, the truth needs to told… |

I don't purposely hurt anyone. Sometimes it's better to say nothing.
However, if I feel that it's appropriate, beneficial or necessary, I'll opt to tell the painful truth.
To be honest, a lot of the time, I think it's for their own benefit that they wake up from Dreamland. |

I'm a very honest person although I do try to be tactful about it. I usually ask someone do you just want me to listen or do you want my opinion, I don't volunteer my thoughts unless I'm asked especially if the context is negative. I struggle with lying but never would intend to hurt anyone with honesty either. |

Best just to give the truth as if you lie the truth comes out in the end and then makes it worse. Sometimes will even ask and say you sure you want the truth because it ain’t good give them the option.
Honesty the best policy!
You can’t handle the truth! |

Neither. The world isn't quite so binary. I'd rather skip hurting anyone.
And just because I think it's the truth... it might be my opinion. Only truthful in so far as that's truly my opinion, not necessarily factually correct.
I think my general viewpoint is more in line with LL's on this thread. |
