Like I said on the other thread
Get up go to work, work hard come home cook dinner, provide for your family, support your wife and kid's be a positive role model ,be kind and loving.
Repeat for 40 year's
We don't want praise just don't knock us down at every opportunity some of us try very hard to do it right despite wanting to curl into a ball and cry some days.

Get up go to work, come home cook dinner wash up, keep house clean,do all the DIY provide a stable environment for the family........

If you're struggling with mental health, I can highly recommend having a peek at Andy's Man Club.

It's a free men's mental health support group. They hold meetings every Monday at 7pm, across multiple towns and cities.
It's not counselling or professional support, just fellow men listening and supporting each other.
You're never pressured into talking and you can choose to share as little or as much as you're comfortable with.
I used to attend regularly a few years ago, when I split from my girlfriend and they really helped me.
I will say that some people who attend can be in a very bad way, absolutely devastated, which can also affect your own mental health. So be wary of that, because it caught me unawares one day and I came out feeling worse than when I went in.
But they're always there for you, whenever you need them. Some members have set up their own group chats as well, which could give you an outlet on days outside of Mondays.

For sure! The majority who attend gain something positive from going. Even just to have a cuppa and a chat for a couple hours.
When I first went, it was around 10 people or so. I popped in around a year later, to say hello and they were up to 50+ I think.
That made me very happy, that more men are opening up about their mental health. 😊 |

It was International Mens Day long before feminists at the UN changed it to be world toilet day.
Honestly, they will do absoutly anything to avoid saying a single nice thing about men, or even acknowledge all the good men do, and the need to recognise and praise men. SO Men get ignored and insulted again. Meanwhile, These same people demand womens day be made a national holiday. Which represents just one of the many issues facing men, and the need for us to have our day.
Generally speaking, Men are great! We are kind, caring, compasionate, funny, creative and thoughtful. We need to stop tearing men down, and treat us with better. |

I've met some great people over my time on this earth, had really good pals and most of them men, they were so supportive, kind and took a lot of shit just for being mates with an overweight silly arse (me)
Women encouraging and supporting men is great.
Men supporting and encouraging them to be themselves is a something amazing to witness

It really shouldn't surprise me but I live with eternal hope that we could buck the trend just for once on a male positivity thread, instead of dragging it into the detritus...the effluent...the toilet references.
Had this been a similar thread championing the wondrousness of women and a man had made a similar jokey remark, women and white-knights would be going thermonuclear, without compunction.

It's lovely to read positive reflections of men in various roles. As dads, partners, grandparents, brothers, friends etc. I do appreciate this greatly. And the acknowledgement that men can be carers and nurturers, is heart-warming. I do not mean to detract from that when I say...
I also think it's positive to acknowledge that we don't have to be any of those things to have worth. We don't have to be heroes and the world will not go to shit if Atlas shrugs. We can just be our imperfect selves and that's ok too. |

My Dad was not a good male role model. But I have had some wonderful men in my life, my uncles are best. I've had 2 male managers whom without I wouldn't be in the career I am in now, and fostered so much confidence in my own abilities. My mates who've made me laugh and usually were the first people I told all the important things occurring in my life, have been fundamental in my happiness. And the other half whose helped me be the most authentic version of me possible. And to my kids I'm hoping to raise to be outstanding men in their own right.
