I just feel like we don’t need any more excuses for people to shit on how stupid they think people that worry about racism are or how ridiculous they think anti racism is.

Sigh

Because it made me fall of my chair. Because Welsh govt spent tax payers money to come to that conclusion. Because it's worthy of discussion what our leaders spend our money on our behalf doing.

This.

The article talks about the creation of more accessible outdoor space, which does make sense when you look at the reaction Countryfile viewers had to a group of black people going rambling 🙄. I suspect dog free areas are a tiny part of the broader campaign but it’s been taken out of context for click bait and to mock anti racist work.

Not single and not meeting

It's very important to tackle racism and ensure that public green spaces are acceible and inclusive but I fail to see how dogs are the problem ... my dogs couldn't give a rats arse about the colour of someone's skin if they are willing to give them a treat and throw a ball .... and they don't annoy straight gers on walks...... if you are a bunny or a squirrel .... that's a different matter

The story is just rubbish, it's a misinterpretation of what an action group actually said.

The dog free areas suggested are children's playgrounds, nothing whatsoever to do with racism ..

Generally dogs shouldn’t be in kids playgrounds and responsible dog owners should know not to let their dogs shit where kids play

Our dog was very racist. He used to bark at our Indian postman and try to bite him. I did have a word with him about it but he didn’t listen and carried on. I had to encourage him to bite our milkman in the name of diversity.

They spent money on what I think is an anti-racist action plan, which doesn't seem like a terrible waste of taxpayers' money. I like it when governments, of all colours, seek external views.

That the report includes recommendations is not unusual and the government can choose which ones to implement or not. This is just one of many, I'm sure, but a good one to make a mouth-frothing story out of.

I love dogs, but can see the idea of dog-free areas would appeal to some people. We already do this on most beaches.

All good points well made.

Milton Keynes

When the spotlight is on our politicians and what they are doing with the taxes we pay, they seek to divide us everyday people by making up a load of nonsense with sensationalist headlines, so that we point the finger at anybody else but them. The sad thing is, they often succeed.
