Not what you'd see as the traditional Dracula story but I really like Dracula Untold (Luke Evans) and Van Helsing (Richard Roxburgh) as films.

If we're sticking to the traditional Dracula story then Bram Stoker’s Dracula – 1992 – starring Gary Oldman as Dracula is a favourite.

I'm going to outrage Hammer purists but my favourite Christopher Lee Dracula film is one he's hardly in and is set in the modern day - The Satanic Rites Of Dracula.

(My favourite Lee-heavy Hammer is probably The Devil Rides Out).

It’s good… apart from series 3… a little hard to swallow (doesn’t fit)

Adore the nun.. the banter is excellent.

I think I have to go with Gary Oldman as he portrays both the sophisticated side of Dracula and the grotesque, monstrous side.

Dracula is a difficult book to adapt and it has never been done entirely successfully I don't think.

Brad pitt's Louis in interview with the vampire was aesthetically pleasing but a bit of a downer. No one wants a depressed vampire. I liked Eric Northman in true blood, more so when he became the good Eric after losing his memory - which is not like me, I tend to go for the fukboi douchebags

Vagina privilege wins again.

So depiction? Love Gary Oldman and Claes Bang. I also really liked Carmago's in Penny Dreadful (because Penny Dreadful is amazing on so many levels and more people should know about it).

And films? Too many of them.

Did you know there's a Dracula musical? My favourite song would be The Master's Song. I also have a weakness for Dracula's Lament.

Vagina privilege or Meli privilege - either way.

Penny Dreadful has been on my list for ages and I've just never gotten round to it.

I was not aware of this musical, but I am a) not surprised it exists and b) not surprised that you love it

I just want to throw in my endorsement of Meli's Penny Dreadful recommendation - it's a truly outstanding show on so many levels. The gothic world it creates is a thing of beauty, and there are some incredible performances!

Even if you aren't a gothic horror fan it's worth watching.

🧛🏼‍♀️❤❤❤❤

There were 3 seasons before they wrapped it up.

A few years later they brought out something called "Penny Dreadful: City of Angels". It wasn't a patch on the original, and I gave up after about 5 episodes in favour of watching Perry Mason, which had a lot of very similar plot elements, just without the supernatural side.
