It has been a busy couple of weeks in vanilla life and this is the first time I have stopped."

Walls were closing in - small bedsit with no tv, radio or anyone to talk to.
Decided to go out by myself and just walk. Got a bit lost as new to area so took ages to get back. Temperature dropped rapidly on way back so now I've got my hands round a hot cup of coffee and slowly thawing out. |

Trying and failing to sleep in a hospital ward full of dementia sufferers.
But tonight, the disruption isn't the other customers, it's the goddamned HCAs who are sat planning their holidays in the corner. Loudly. Any attempt to request quiet is met with disdain and what feels like deliberate continuation.
Now, we're having someone the loo/commode, all the lights are on and some wally dropped something loud on the floor. It's absolutely impossible to sleep at all and I'm sick to death of it. |

Ach, today’s been not so good.
But, through the other side. Annoyed with myself for thinking negatively and need to look a bit more at using the things I know to cope.
But, days like that happen, something out of my control going wrong and being an inconvenience.
Got my walking distance in, got some fresh air, thought a bit more over Xmas anc sorted out another couple of presents.
See what Sunday brings |

Invest in some ear plugs and an eye mask, well worth the money to get some sleep. |

Why are you in a ward with dementia sufferers? How's the wrist or has something else gone wrong since I was last on? |

I'm on an orthopaedic ward, full of people with broken hips and legs (and often, with dementia). My "good" leg lost power, had intractable pain and my bladder started playing up, so am having more neuro type tests. I've been here over a fortnight. Huzzah! |

I do like the "Huzzah".
You tube has clips of all the 'Huzzah' scenes from The Great.
Spirits up and 'Huzzah' with a vodka toss |
