"Can you listen to and enjoy Gospel music without being religious
Absolutely. What's your type? Black gospel or more modern?"
So I enjoyed the stuff the million dollar quartet even though was just a jam session. |

"Yes. Because the voices, the harmonies, the rapture (and I don't mean in a religious sense).
Name your favourite song if you have one please "
Bit of an obvious one, but I love it; Oh Happy Day - Edwin Hawkins Singers |

"Possible to enjoy the art and architecture of the Vatican without being a believer so I’d say yes.
Point well made. "
I listen to the modern country stuff, there’s a load about god and Jesus, but that’s the backstory to the music sort of thing, not the main point of it |

"If I listen to it for too long, my skin starts to smoke and I have to turn it off in case I burst into flames.
🧛🏼♀️"
Is that just you being hot.
Does it happen with other genres |

It may just be my inherent hotness, I'll concede.
But too much sacred choral music has a similar effect, and I cool right down again if I listen to goth or death metal 😝 |

Gospel music is probably the root of alot of today's music so you could be listening to it without realising it.
Some people connect with it some don't.
You certainly don't have to be religious, but just being open to it is a good thing.
If it gives you a feeling of freedom and liberation then it's done it's job.
