Fear of heights

couple, us we him her.

Personally it doesn't really bother me my job has taken me to some pretty sketchy places, outside top of clock towers, windmill, dodgy scaffolding and very high ladders.

But as always most falls always seem to be from a fairly low height.

I injured my back falling from less than 3feet 25 year's ago and still suffering today.

What are you like with height, can you work on a wobbly scaffold tower 8 meters up in winter,or do you shit yourself getting stuff from the top shelf in the kitchen?

Highest I've worked was on the roof of a very tall tower block replacing some doors.

I don’t mind heights so much but I don’t like using a ladder. They just always feel very unstable.

I suffer from vertigo which is the looking down part. I was fine at the top of the Eiffel Tower as you can really look straight down, but you can in the list and that was very unsettling.

I used to be fine with heights, a little wobbly, but nothing major. I got on a plane a few years ago and since then I’ve been terrified.

My sister lives in a flat and my legs feel like jelly just walking around her house because I know how high up I am.

It’s unnecessary, I know.

I'm fine with heights. But one thing that does make my stomach turn are the video's on YouTube. The ones where people climb up huge narrow communication towers without any safety precautions and stand on the top arms outstretched. Just them and their camera. Ooh no thanks.

As a kid I used to be terrified of heights. My dad thought it would be idea to conquer my fear by taking me to the top of the Blackpool tower, and pick me up to lean me over the edge💩

I`m dreadful with heights, although have no issues flying - just getting off the plane at the other end!

It’s not the fall that does the damage it’s the sudden stop that hurts

As said further up, no problem with heights.

Done a lot of work off booms and scissor lifts etc but still don't feel comfy on a ladder!!

Think being heavy and feeling them flex puts me off 😬

I have a real issue with heights - anything beyond about 3 steps on the step ladder & I have to get someone else to do it

I fine with heights, I just can't jump across gaps without a harness.

I was once air-sea rescued (for a training exercise); it was amazing hanging under the helicopter flying over the sea.

I'm tragic with heights too! Not sure where it started, and it's ok if I'm moving but if I stand still or have nothing to do I'm like, let's get down now.

To bring it to sex, fab and all, I once had sex with a woman who wanted to do it pressed to the glass of a window in her tower block high up. I really made her bend over just so I was as far away from the window as possible 😂😂

I don't have a fear of heights, in fact the opposite. It's a phenomenon known as l’appel du vide, or the call of the void. I feel quite giddy and wonder what it would be like to, jump, fall or even fly. My balance gets skewed and it all begins to feel a bit intoxicating.

And no I don't want to die.

I've never had an issue with heights, which is just as well as I need to work up ladders, except for when my babies were babies. When my eldest was 18 months old I did a leap of faith type activity, thinking it would be fun and exhilarating blah blah blah. The first I knew about this new found fear was my knees trembling uncontrollably. I carried on and did the activity, but it took me a good hour to calm down afterwards.

Once the boys were capable of fending for themselves (in theory), the fear totally disappeared.

Yeah we use a similar one.

It's not the fall that kills you,it's the ground!

A heights legend - Fred Dibnah. Utterly fearless. When he's swinging around at 200 feet on a home made swing that he's nailed to the side of a chimney.

The king of heights. An absolute legend.

Replacing doors on the outside of the building high up ?I don't like heights but I'm ok working because I'm thinking about the work rather than the height .
