I should rephrase the title!!

But do you believe in being 'run down', tired, always feeling a cold coming on?

Not the other kind of run down

I believe it is possible, this my busiest time of year in work and it ends up with me being knackered by the end of it. I've learnt to mitigate some of it by now but still I'm glad to see December come.

It can be the darkness of winter, low mood, medication side effects, lack of certain nutrients..Such as a lack of B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, B12, C, D, iron, or magnesium. The doctors call it TATT, tired all the time. It's grim

Oh very definitely! Ongoing low-grade physical exhaustion and prone to colds and infections. "Yuppie Flu"/ME/CFS is like this. 😕

Yeah I think you can feel rundown. It could be a host of issues. I feel like that mostly during the spring and summer as I have reverse SAD.

Yes, there’s can be a lot of reasons for it and mostly harmless. Maybe speak to your gp if it doesn’t pass. They might be able to give you supplements/check your thyroid.

As for the other run down, I would say I would probably be in favour. I don’t have anyone in mind at the moment but I’d like to have the option

Been run down for a while now, tried to different ways of helping not feel it but always end up back same way. Tried seeing my GP but unfortunately they take the piss with when I can be seen and generally don't care for much.

Absolutely.

My husband gets it really bad from time to time. Constantly stressed with work and pushing himself to get work done. Every time we take a holiday he ends up ill.

I'm actually off this week, doing nothing special just so I can recharge batteries. I'm a workaholic and I believe in whatever it's called is a thing, for me I call it "burnt out"

I've had chats where people have said its all in the mind, or the eye rolling 'your fat' and don't eat well comments. So yes, some people don't believe

Some people don't! My late wife suffered with ME for years and even some doctors didn't believe she had anything wrong with her. She dropped out of uni because of it, and didn't recover until her mid twenties.

And yes, just like the doctor who said to her "you do know you're fat, don't you" (prick), many people said she "just" needed exercise and to lose weight ('cos that's sooooo easy).

I'm going for my yearly blood tests tomorrow.

I've been more tired and easily exhausted recently, probably due to having one cold after the other this year.

I have Fibro and other musculoskeletal diseases plus IBS which makes me tire very easily.

I push myself to do things then suffer the consequences afterwards.

Getting a good night's sleep doesn't make much difference either.

I'm fighting sleep right now.

Very similar... Chronic pain and fatigue at the best of times! October was a busy month, not in usual routine, travelled... Back home to stressful events, had a cold... I'm incredibly run down right now!

I'd highly recommend getting your vitamin levels checked for deficiency.

So true ! Lots of things make you feel run down.

Medical conditions, sexless marriage , family mental health problems to name a few.

Sitting somewhere red hot on my own would help , I know that for sure.

It doesn't sound like a fully natural, healthy state of being, nor a great way I'd like anyone to live.

Our minds and bodies are connected, so I'd be curious about any part of somebody being involved in someone who is this way. Certainly stress isn't healthy and cause chronic problems, so I'd be looking to reduce it and getting a break.

Obviously physical health issues can be very complex too, some things having extremely long lasting prevalence.

I'd want to get someone very thoroughly checked and monitored.

I certainly do, I get skin flare ups and my allergies get more intense when I'm "run down" . It's more likely that your immune system is not performing very well when you feel run down, the immune system struggles to perform well when you are tired or overstressed.
