Quality Stuff - What have you bought recently?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Recently, I've been spending a lot more money on stuff than I previously would have. I never used to buy anything that cost more than a few quid or something.
I used to think that expensive stuff was more or less the same quality but that people would just pay extra for the name, just to act like a snob or whatever. To some extent, I think I was right, but now though, I think more expensive things can actually be worth it.
Recently, I bought a Rab coat and I'm very impressed with it. It's light, it barely weighs anything, it's water resistant and it packs into a little bag. It's seriously something like a few mm thick, yet it's very cosy! The stitching and the zips are really excellent quality.
What stuff have you bought recently that's really nice quality? |

Whole new outfit again for Saturday night, beautiful pair of genuine leather boots, new skinny’s and a great fitting corduroy style shirt with p’o’ppers that came in extremely handy |

Last week I bought my self a new pair of steel toe boots for work, the ones I have wore before were all company issued ones which hurt my feet, I bit the bullet and bought expensive ones and fuck it’s amazing lol |

"A pair of leather boots. They will probably last me about 15 years of more and were comfortable from the first time I wore them. They have the added bonus of being bloomin gorgeous "
Where from? I bought some Chelsea boots recently. The best I could find was M&S. |

My hiking boots.
I paid £275 for them 15 years ago, and they’re still as comfortable, waterproof, and in as excellent condition as the time I bought them.
They’ve hiked well over 1000 miles, climbed the 3 peaks 4 times, they Yorkshire 3 peaks 5 times, seen the summits of Kilimanjaro, Stok Kangri, and Mount Fuji. They’re a part of me, that I’ll refuse to part with until they fall apart. |

"Finally bought the lesbian book I wanted ! And I’m looking at buying a new kindle. And a slow cooker. This is what being in your 20s is all about "
Cool! Which lesbian book did you buy?
I sold my kindle not long ago. The page system used to frustrate me too much! |

Just bought a new pair of winter boots, they were on sale so didn't cost as much as they should have. Also bought us all new water bottles over the summer. We've done the cheap ones and they aren't worth it, these actually keep the liquid cold. |

I realize i didn't answer the op’s question properly around nice quality.
A Brioni suit for hubby. Its a lovely cut, timeless amd will last him ages.
Providing I don’t let him get fat
I’ll have to exercise him regularly….. |

I am a charity shop vulture, and luckily for me around here there are some rather upmarket ones and one can get lovely clothes (and hats and jewellery etc.), sometimes ‘designer’ ones, either unworn or worn once or twice, and often brand new given by companies. I never spend much but by careful selective shopping get a lot of pretty things for a fraction of the original price. Anything else that I need I usually get through online shopping, but very rarely, although I would rather shop in shops, which I do go to for stockings and tights and makeup etc.
I don’t really need any more clothes etc. but I enjoy browsing and can’t resist pretty things even if I don’t really need them, and I haven’t got room for them! |

Last week, I cleared out my old shoes/trainers. What I used to do is buy cheap shoes, use them until they became tatty, and then they'd become rough shoes for getting dirty and whatever else I wanted.
I had four pairs of cheap trainers... The only brand that was still intact, still connected to the sole, still in working order was Karrimor! It turns out that they were also the cheapest. |

A Honey Birdette bra. It's truly beautiful and delicate and supportive, a white, lacy thing. Sexy, unashamedly I've always said when I lose enough weight I was going to buy one.
And an Emma Bridgewater Chilly bottle. It keeps drinks so cool/hot and motivates me to keep up my water intake. |

On this occasion, I'm going to let you off, but I'll be watching you from now on. Be warned!
I'll check that suit out too. |

My most recent purchase was a beautiful long dark purple velvet jacket with tiny discreet sequins. |

Oh, that sounds good. Cheap good brand stuff. I used to look in charity shops but I got fed up after a while because I gave long arms. The sleeves tended to be too short.
If I go to places, I can see what fits properly. |

I suppose some people would find that sort of shopping to be exciting. You never know what little gems are going to be on offer! |
