You should never view a persons boundaries/Preferences as restrictions. In doing so you're adding your own negative views into the equaion. Naturally this will effect the quality of the meet.
If an individual isn't happy doing some of the activities you like then simply move along and find someone who is.
Preferences and boundaries are there for a reason and shouldn't be questioned no matter how much you disagree with them. |

You're making the argument that this was a preference stated by a sexual partner. The OP did no such thing. Why are you trying to start something?
I simply took it as an honest hypothetical, maybe even a fun challenge posing a straightforward question.
Were you unable to do x,y,z could a fun sexual experience still be had?
I answered with that context in mind.
Self-imposed restrictions as part of a fun challenge is not equivalent to a partner stating their sexual preferences.
It should go without saying that you should work withing the confines of what's been consented to by your partner. I would work with every tool at my disposal that's been approved by a partner. Why am I needing to state the obvious here.

I would go even further to say that there is nothing wrong with viewing a partners preferences as restrictions upon yourself. Its a matter of semantics. What's important is ones character.
As an individual in a sexual encounter, I want to make sure my partner enjoys the experience. If they are not having fun, neither am I. If something I *could* do will have a negative impact on their experience then I will not do it. Not everyone likes certain things and that's okay. Restrictions are okay.
This whole 'negative views' idea you have only makes sense in the context of a selfish person who would get frustrated by their partner not wanting something done on them because to them it compromises their own enjoyment.
But someone like myself who's enjoyment truly depends on the experience my partner is having, your assumption does not apply at all. Doing what they don't like would make them unhappy, which makes me unhappy, so why would I do that?
When I say it doesn't make sense to impose restrictions its under the assumption that my partner would be okay with the things I *could* do, but as part of some self imposed challenge I choose to restrict myself.
Before assuming the worst of people, why not just ask clarifying questions? What motivates you to make your assumptions and write as if they were the truth. Not cool.  |
