Normally can scan it using a QR code when you set your new phone up

Stourport-On-Severn

Turn on both phones, connect both to your wifi network. You should then have the option on screen on your new phone to set up using another device. Just follow the on screen instructions and all your data will transfer across.

Mean streets of Hounslow

If you’ve backed everything up on your old phone simply open up your new phone with WiFi and your Apple details (or whatever your log in details are), it should automatically upload everything from your old phone

I’m a slight technophobe but it was that simple for me

It's early yet.

When you say 'award'....if the prize is edible I can definitely dial up the random. 🤔😇😇

My focus, is to have your original phone set to backup everything on it, that you want to transfer. It may take a few minutes to get it all backed up to your account online, so that your most up-to-date data is done.

Then, when you turn your new one on, you'll enter your account details and password. It should then ask you if you want to restore all of your backed up data on to it. You might want to do this over WiFi, if you're on a limited data plan or have slow data.

Obviously you'd need your WiFi router password to setup WiFi on your new phone.

If they’re iPhones, you only have to hold them near to each other.

It shouldn’t matter when you transfer the sim if you have WiFi set up on both phones - WiFi is usually a much faster way to transfer the data.

Is there any way to do this if the new phone has already been set up?

(To the best of the persons knowledge the old phone hasn't stored everything anywhere as data. Signed in new phone using same Google account hoping to get pictures and contacts transferred over but nothing.)

If you have a Samsung it's smart switch does it all for you, it takes a while but literally everything swops to your new phone

I don’t have a Samsung, but if I did I’m pretty sure I’d manage to balls this up somehow or another
